Placental adhesion spectrum (PAS) is a disease in which the trophoblast invades the myometrium, and is a well-known high-risk condition associated with placental previa. ⋯ Despite placenta previa without PAS disorders, maternal hemorrhagic morbidity was significantly increased. Thus, our results highlight the need for resources for those women with evidence of placenta previa including a low-lying placenta, even if those women do not meet PAS disorder criteria. In addition, placenta previa without PAS disorder was not associated with critical maternal complications.

Postoperative paralytic ileus refers to the disruption of the normal coordinated propulsive motor activity of the gastrointestinal system following surgery. Surgery causes inflammation in the muscle walls of organs with an intestinal lumen that, in turn, leads to a decrease in intestinal motility. ⋯ Gastrografin and combined use of gastrografin and neostigmine are effective and viable methods for postoperative ileus cases. Gastrografin can safely be used in patients with anastomoses.

Healthcare professionals' beliefs regarding influenza vaccination: What has COVID-19 changed?
Influenza poses a potential public health threat among healthcare professionals since an infected healthcare professional can spread the virus to patients at higher risk as well as his/her own family members and colleagues. Annual influenza vaccination is the most effective way to protect HCPs. ⋯ Although the proportion of healthcare professionals with the intention to be vaccinated for influenza increased with the COVID-19 pandemic, it is still not high enough. Influenza vaccination rates should be promoted by in-service training programs.

During orthodontic treatment, teeth with brackets may sometimes be restored with different restorative materials. In this case, the content of the orthodontic adhesive selected for bracket bonding may also be important. ⋯ Glass ionomer-based orthodontic adhesive provided safer bond strength and demineralization prevention when applying metal brackets to teeth with glass ionomer restorations.
