To assess clinicopathological characteristics of primary gastro-entero-pancreatic poorly differentiated neuroendocrine carcinomas (GEP-PDNECAs) and evaluate overall survival in patients treated with systemic platinum and etoposide therapy. ⋯ GEP-PDNECA occurred in many part of the GI tract, most commonly in the colorectal region. Positivity of neuroendocrine markers was variable, which helped to confirm neuro-endocrine differentiation and to avoid under-diagnosis of GEP-PDNECA, especially in metastatic setting. Overall prognosis of GEP-PDNECA patients following platinum and etoposide therapy in our series was relatively favorable but remained poor in the presence of distant metastases.

Heineke-Mikulicz pyloroplasty for isolated pyloric stricture caused by corrosive ingestion in children.
Corrosive ingestion in children is a common problem in low income countries. These agents cause injuries and later strictures of esophagus and stomach. Gastric outlet obstruction is known complication of acids and surgery is the mainstay of treatment. ⋯ All three patients had an initial latent period of one to two weeks following corrosive ingestion, after which symptoms of gastric outlet obstruction appeared. Intraoperatively, all three had normal esophagus and antrum but scarred and strictured pylorus. Heineke-Mikulicz pyloroplasty was done in these cases without complications and the outcomes were satisfactory.

To evaluate the safety and efficacy of Suprachoroidal Triamcinolone Acetonide (SCTA) injection in patients with treatment resistant Diabetic Macular Edema (DME). ⋯ Preliminary evidence suggests that SCTA is well tolerated and may help in improving functional and structural outcomes of treatment resistant DME.

To determine the frequency of anti-HCV in patients on maintenance haemodialysis (HD) and its association with history of blood transfusion and with the practice of HD from more than one center. ⋯ There was a high prevalence (41.6%) of anti-HCV in our HD patients and anti-HCV positivity had significant association with history of blood transfusion as well as with history of HD from multiple centres.

To determine the cases of Noninvasive Follicular thyroid neoplasm with papillary like nuclear features (NIFTP) in Pakistani population retrospectively. Another objective was to determine their clinical and radiological outcomes with respect to local and systemic disease recurrence, reconfirming the benign course of this new nomenclature in Thyroid tumors by WHO in our population would encourage adopting the new conservative treatment approach in such patients. ⋯ Our study favors the low risk nature of NIFTP with no disease recurrence in the cases studied and encourages de-escalation of treatment.
