Worldwide, there is a swift shift in the pattern of biological, environmental, economic, and educational systems. ⋯ Many universities worldwide, including the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand, promote D. Sc degree programs in various science disciplines, including medical sciences. This manuscript explores the dynamics of a higher doctorate and its significance, need, and demand in academia to compete globally.

To evaluate the outcomes of clinical pharmacist-led medication therapy management (MTM) services for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). ⋯ MTM designed for COPD patients can improve pharmacist-led service quality and clinical outcomes of COPD.

Khuzdar, the largest city of Southern Balochistan, is endemic for malaria with API of 6. The study was aimed at comparing the clinico-lab profile of severe and uncomplicated malaria in the region and to determine any association with age. No such study is reported in the region so far. ⋯ Certain clinical and lab parameters can be used to predict prognosis and thus avoid adverse outcome in malaria patients.

We wish to share our outcome of single median raphe scrotal incision orchiopexy (SMRSO) regarding safety & feasibility of technique by evaluating ease of access, conversion rate, duration of surgery, success rate, complications, and the need for redo-surgery. ⋯ Single-incision Median Raphe Scrotal orchiopexy is an attractive alternative to the standard inguinoscrotal orchiopexy for palpable low lying undescended testes with a better cosmetic outcome.

To compare the effect of burrhole craniostomy with and without a postoperative course of dexamethasone on recurrence rate of chronic subdural hematoma (CSDH). ⋯ Neurological and radiological outcome, and mortality rates were similar in both groups. The recurrence rate was lower and complications slightly higher in Group-1 but these were not statistically significant.
