To determine the efficacy of usage of topical autologous platelet rich fibrin (PRF) in improving outcomes of myringoplasty regarding graft uptake and hearing improvement. ⋯ Topical use of Platelet-Rich Fibrin during myringoplasty results in improved graft uptake. Hence, resulting in much improved hearing, significant reduction in infection rates and decrease in perforation sizes.

To investigate the effects of etibatide combined with emergency percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) on blood perfusion and cardiac function in acute myocardial infarction (AMI) patients. ⋯ Etibatide combined with emergency PCI could improve myocardial reperfusion and cardiac function in patients with acute STEMI without increasing the incidence of MACE.

To correlate the immunofluorescence (IF) findings on renal biopsies of patients of glomerulonephritis (GN) with the clinical course of the disease. ⋯ Immunofluorescence proved an important diagnostic tool in reaching the exact diagnosis in various types of GN. Distinct correlation between IF findings and clinical course of various types of GN was observed. IF negative cases had better outcome and was not having progressive course of disease so prognosis remained better than IF positive cases in this study.

The Chikungunya virus (CHIKV) transmitted to the humans through Aedes species of the mosquitoes. In December 2016, a severe outbreak reported from Pakistan. However, there is no vaccine or anti-viral treatment currently available so host immune response against CHIKV gained significant interest. Therefore, this study was conducted to identify the mutations in CHIKV E2 region of currently circulating Pakistani strains & determine their potential immunogenicity in Pakistani population. ⋯ The evolution of E2 protein in Pakistani strains has increased its immunogenicity in comparison to ancestral s27 strain. The identification of most immunogenic and conserved epitopes with high population coverage has high potential to be used in vaccine development against these local strains.

To determine the incidence of anatomical variants of sinonasal region and its correlation with symptoms of sinusitis. ⋯ The anatomy of sinonasal region is highly complex. However, anatomical variants can disturb the sinus mucociliary drainage pathway resulting in patient suffering. Therefore, considering the variable anatomy of sinonasal region, CT-PNS is recommended for every subject in order to avoid surgical hazards.
