We designed this prospective observational study to clarify the associations between dialysate IL-6, a marker of ongoing peritoneal inflammation, Tie2, an important factor in angiogenesis in the peritoneum, and a high peritoneal solute transport rate (PSTR) in patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis (PD) and to investigate their outcome predictive roles. ⋯ Our results suggest that patients undergoing CAPD have a high peritoneal solute transport status with local peritoneal inflammation and angiogenesis. Increased D/Pcr is a relative risk factor for mortality and technique failure in patients undergoing CAPD.

Prediction of ICU admission after surgery are important for rational decision-making for different patients in clinical practice. Little information is available about the risk factors of postoperative ICU admission in elderly patients undergoing orthopedic surgery. This study aimed to identify risk factors and develop a predictive model for postoperative ICU admission in elderly patients undergoing orthopedic surgery. ⋯ Our study revealed that emergency surgery, anesthesia method, surgery type and ASA grade were risk factors to predict postoperative ICU admission in elderly orthopedic patients.

To determine the prevalence of asymptomatic cardiac autonomic neuropathy and its association with risk factors among patients with Type-2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). ⋯ CAN was highly prevalent in diabetic population that may lead to nephropathy and retinopathy in future. It is highly recommended to use sensitive and simple CARTs in clinics for early detection and early treatment of CAN.

To study the correlations of circulating miR-26b level with left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) and cardiac function in elderly patients with hypertension. ⋯ MiR-26b level is negatively correlated with LVH and positively correlated with left ventricular diastolic function in elderly hypertensive patients. It is a protective factor for LVH complicated with diastolic dysfunction and a potential biomarker for diagnosis.

To evaluate the effect of sintilimab combined with chemotherapy on tumor markers and immune function in advanced non-small cell lung cancer. ⋯ Compared with chemotherapy alone, significant therapeutic effects can be obtained in the treatment of advanced non-small cell lung cancer with sintilimab combined with chemotherapy. With this combination regimen, the level of serum tumor markers can be significantly reduced, the cellular immune function of patients can be improved, with the overall response rate of treatment increased, and the risk of progressive disease of patients reduced.
