To assess the mutational frequencies in Mycobacterial rpoB gene using GeneXpert/MTB Rif Assay in rifampicin resistant patients during 2013-2017 at a tertiary care setting in Urban Sindh, Pakistan. ⋯ The rpoB gene Probe E region 529-533 appears the most potent site for a mutation and development of rifampicin resistance in the rpoB gene in Mycobacterium tuberculosis, that encodes the β-subunit of RNA polymerase. The most affected age-group in both males and females is 19-45 Years.

Evaluation of TBL from students' perspective has been done extensively, but limited studies have analyzed the effect of TBL on students' academic performance. Objectives of the present study were to assess students' perceptions about team-based learning versus traditional lectures and then to compare with students' grades in both TBL and lecture-based assessments. ⋯ We conclude that dentistry students perceived TBL as superior teaching and learning strategy compared to traditional lectures. Their perception was verified by their significant higher academic achievements in the assessments for the coursework taught by utilizing team-based learning strategy.

To evaluate the safety and effectiveness of transcatheter arterial embolization for controlling spontaneous hemorrhage in patients with acquired cystic kidney disease (ACKD). ⋯ Renal artery embolization is safe and effective for controlling spontaneous renal hemorrhage in patients with ACKD.

To investigate clinical outcomes of open and retroperitoneal laparoscopic nephron-sparing surgery in the treatment of complex renal tumours. ⋯ Open surgery remains the recommended surgical method for the treatment of few complex tumours in the renal hilus region and has gradually become the renal surgery of choice at present, although laparoscopic surgery has evolved tremendously.

To correlate compliance to personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols and risk of exposure to SARS-COV-2 infection in endoscopy staff. ⋯ Compliance of SOPs for infection control reduces risk of acquiring Covid-19 infection during endoscopy. Proper use of PPE is effective for safety of endoscopy staff.
