To determine the serum immunoglobulin E and serotonin levels of patients with chronic suppurative otitis media (CSOM) with and without treatment. ⋯ Antibiotics may revert the higher levels of IgE but cannot attenuate the decreased levels of neurotransmitter (serotonin) like healthy individuals, therefore, depression levels of CSOM patients should be monitored, scored and attenuated with proper intervention of antidepressants or counseling.

To compare the effectiveness and complications of Burch colposuspension and Mid Urethral Slings (MUS) for the treatment of Stress Urinary Incontinence (SUI). ⋯ All the three procedures have equal efficacy and complication rates. Even though TVT is the new gold standard but in view of current debate regarding mesh related complications, there is a need to readdress Burch colposuspension for treatment of SUI.

To compare safety and number of post-operative visits of patients in convenient day versus conventional first day follow-up after phacoemulsification. ⋯ Convenient day follow-up is as safe as conventional first day follow-up. Convenient day follow-up significantly reduces the number of post-operative visits. This would translate into cost reduction both for the patients and the health care facility.

Hydronephrosis (HN) is dilatation of the collecting system of the kidney due to obstruction of urine outflow. This study intended firstly, to investigate the efficacy of ultrasound (US) imaging to determine the cause of HN, and secondly, to list the causes of HN. ⋯ Ultrasound imaging can determine the cause of HN in more than two thirds of patients. Calculi are the most common cause of HN even in children and are most common in the VUJ junction.

The objective of the study was to assess the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the mental health and lifestyle of our medical students. ⋯ Our study emphasizes prioritizing both the physical and mental health of medical students is vital to avoid complications related to the pandemic.
