To compare the effectiveness and complications of Burch colposuspension and Mid Urethral Slings (MUS) for the treatment of Stress Urinary Incontinence (SUI). ⋯ All the three procedures have equal efficacy and complication rates. Even though TVT is the new gold standard but in view of current debate regarding mesh related complications, there is a need to readdress Burch colposuspension for treatment of SUI.

To compare safety and number of post-operative visits of patients in convenient day versus conventional first day follow-up after phacoemulsification. ⋯ Convenient day follow-up is as safe as conventional first day follow-up. Convenient day follow-up significantly reduces the number of post-operative visits. This would translate into cost reduction both for the patients and the health care facility.

The study objective was to establish serum TSH cut off value for diagnosis of new case of congenital hypothyroidism and to estimate frequency of Congenital Neonatal Hypothyroidism. ⋯ The TSH cut off value of >15mIU/l was established for case detection of CNH. Our findings of CNH in district Dera Ghazi Khan (8%) are the highest frequency of CNH reported so far in Pakistan.

To identify association of neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio with disease severity and mortality. ⋯ Results are compatible with worldwide studies and NLR is a cheap and easily available marker of disease severity and mortality.

To investigate the efficacy of combined detection of 5 serological tumor markers including macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) and abnormal prothrombin (PIVKA-II) in the early diagnosis of primary liver cancer. ⋯ Serum MIF, GP73, PIVKA-II, AFP-L3 and AFP all have certain diagnostic value for primary liver cancer; the combined detection of five serological tumor markers can significantly improve the sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of the diagnosis of primary liver cancer, with higher diagnostic value.
