The aim of this article is to report the recent surge in use of additive manufacturing (AM) or three-dimensional printing (3DP) services in healthcare, especially the field of orthopaedics. Pakistan's healthcare infrastructure has been slow in adapting and implementing this new technology which is an integral part of the industry 4.0. Various sources including Pubmed, ScienceDirect, Google Scholar and Google were utilised from June to august 2021 to extract articles and information on advantages of AM in orthopaedics. Furthermore, its possible acquisition by a hospital, educational or an industrial setup is also highlighted in this review.

The present study aimed to determine the effect of tracheobronchial aspiration on hospitalization outcomes and the factors influencing its occurrence. ⋯ Tracheobronchial aspiration is a significant predictor of inpatient mortality among patients with hepatic encephalopathy. Male gender, increasing age & upper GI bleed predict aspiration in hepatic encephalopathy patients.

To observe the role of Mentzer index for differentiating iron deficiency anemia (IDA) and beta thalassemia trait (β TT) in pregnant women. ⋯ In this study, it was found that Mentzer Index can be used as a discriminatory test to differentiate between iron deficiency anemia and beta thalassemia trait. The high risk group can then be subjected to definitive diagnostic tests. This can result in better patient compliance and cost effectiveness.

To compare maternal and perinatal outcomes in patients with threatened miscarriage with or without subchorionic hematoma (SCH) at a tertiary care hospital. ⋯ Our study shows that women with threatened miscarriage having SCH are at a higher risk of having preeclampsia and SGA and hence these pregnancies warrant greater surveillance.

To compare the effectiveness of Del-Nido cardioplegia as myocardial protective agent with Saint Thomas cardioplegia in adult cardiac surgical patients. ⋯ Del-Nido cardioplegia is a reliable and better myocardial protective agent than Saint Thomas cardioplegia in adult cardiac surgical procedures.
