Traumatic Spinal cord injury (SCI) is a devastating condition that results in life long disability. Impairments associated with traumatic SCI such as sensory, motor, and autonomic dysfunctions lead to an array of secondary SCI-specific complications. Neuropathic pain is one of the most common medical complications of traumatic SCI which significantly affects motor function and activities of daily living (ADL) in people with traumatic SCI. Neuropathic pain is one of the main factors for dependency, decreased quality of life (QOL), poor rehabilitation outcomes, and depression in traumatic SCI individuals. The main aim of the current study was to determine the frequency of neuropathic pain and its effects on rehabilitation outcomes, balance function, and QOL in people with traumatic SCI. ⋯ It can be concluded that more than two-third of SCI patients suffer from neuropathic pain. Moreover, neuropathic pain is significantly associated with rehabilitation outcomes, balance function, and quality of life.

To investigate the effects of high-dose recombinant human growth hormone(rhGH) treatment on insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) and insulin-like growth factor binding protein-3 (IGFBP-3) levels in patients with idiopathic dwarfism. ⋯ Higher doses of rhGH can provide improved curative effects in patients with idiopathic short stature, likely via elevated levels of IGF-1 and IGFBP-3.

To retrospectively evaluate a multidisciplinary cooperative first aid model for the treatment of patients with pelvic and multiple fractures in the emergency department. ⋯ The multidisciplinary cooperative first aid model for the treatment of patients with pelvic and multiple fractures can effectively shorten the treatment time, increase the excellent functional rehabilitation rate, inhibit the release of inflammatory factors, and reduce the incidence of complications (such as infections), when compared to the conventional trauma emergency system.

To study the value of serum miR21, human epididymal secretory protein 4 (HE4) and carbohydrate antigen 125 (CA125) in the surveillance for postoperative recurrent or metastatic ovarian cancer. ⋯ Elevated expression of miR-21, HE4, and CA125 in serum is closely associated with the disease status of ovarian cancer. Therefore, the simultaneous detection of these tumor markers has some diagnostic value for postoperative recurrence and metastasis of ovarian cancer.
