Lung adenocarcinoma is the most common type of lung cancer with highly incidence and mortality. Due to the overlap of morphological features, it is difficult to distinguish clinically between preinvasive lesions (in situ adenocarcinoma, AIS) and invasive lesions (minimally invasive adenocarcinoma, MIA), which appear as ground glass cloudy nodules. This study was performed to probe the application value of artificial intelligence (AI)-based dual source CT scanning in the differentiation of AIS as well as MIA. ⋯ AI-based dual source CT scanning can clearly show the morphological characteristics of lung adenocarcinoma, which is helpful for the differential diagnosis of lung AIS as well as MIA.

Cerebrovascular Accident (CVA) or stroke, Spinal Cord injury can lead to neurological diseases resulting in major loss in motor function causing hemiplegia or tetraplegia. In 2019, according to The Global Burden of Diseases (GBD) CVA/Stroke is the second leading cause of death and the third leading cause of death and disability combined, globally. Its prevalence vary drastically among South Asian countries. The objective of this study was to determine the effectiveness of Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) machine on neurologically impaired patients at the Physical Therapy department at IHHN, Karachi, Pakistan. ⋯ FES cycling is an effective treatment for patients with neurological impairments, as it resulted in improvement in both upper and lower limb muscle strength, along with mobility status.

To determine the role of r-irisin in attenuating nicotine-induced oxidative stress by estimating serum oxidative stress markers and antioxidant enzymes in BALB/c mice. ⋯ Irisin ameliorates nicotine induced oxidative stress by improving serum anti-oxidant enzyme levels and reducing serum lipid peroxidation marker.

To determine frequencies of causes and renal outcomes of pregnancy related acute kidney injury. ⋯ Primary postpartum hemorrhage is the predominant cause of pregnancy related acute kidney injury. By the end of 12 weeks postpartum, two third patients recover completely from pregnancy related acute renal injury.

Chromosome-1 abnormalities (C1As) are common genetic aberrations in hematological malignancies. We sought to evaluate significance of these abnormalities with reference to clinical characteristics and survival outcome in a pediatric B-Lymphoblastic Leukemia (B-ALL) cohort. ⋯ Despite the fact that the t(1;19) positive group had a higher median age, a higher white cell count and more CNS positives, the difference in EFS is statistically insignificant when compared to the t(1;19) negative cases. Furthermore, we found a survival difference between balanced and unbalanced t(1;19) groups, which is statistically insignificant but warrants large-scale prospective studies for further understanding.
