To investigate the correlation of maternal PDX1 methylation, NGN3 and Pax6 expression levels with neonatal blood sugars and birth weight in pregnant women with GDM and non GDM. ⋯ Changes in maternal PDX1 methylation, NGN3 and Pax6 expression levels may lead to abnormal glucose metabolism in neonates, which has a close bearing on neonatal hypoglycemia and blood glucose levels caused by GDM.

To assess the eating habits, lifestyle and physical activity and their impact on health of students of Faisalabad Medical University (FMU) Faisalabad Pakistan. ⋯ A large proportion of medical students exhibited poor dietary habits with low physical activity. Obesity and other metabolic diseases are more likely to strike medical students who engage in these unhealthy eating habits. As future health providers, health interventions must be implemented to avert future harm.

Recurrent episodes of Portal Systemic Encephalopathy (PSE), poses a significant burden of illness on the patients and healthcare system. The objective of this study was to assess the recurrence of PSE in cirrhotic patients after index episode of PSE and to identify various risk factors associated with it. ⋯ Identification of risk factors during assessment can reduce the recurrence of PSE. We would recommend to validate result of our study on a large scale prospectively.

The study aimed to demonstrate the efficacy and safety of an innovative hemostatic technique in managing Placenta Previa and Accreta Spectrum by S. Rao Spiral Suturing (SRSS) of a lower uterine segment. ⋯ SRSS is an innovative, safe, effective, and simple suturing technique for patients with Placenta Previa and Accreta spectrum.

To compare the risk factors for MRSA colonization in healthy newborns, born of mothers with and without MRSA colonization. ⋯ The presence of meconium, prolonged rupture of membranes and low birth weight were the significant risk factors for MRSA colonization in healthy new-borns, born to mothers with and without MRSA colonization.
