To investigate the relationship between baseline, mean platelet volume (MPV) and prognosis of patients with acute mild cerebral infarction undergoing intravenous thrombolysis with alteplase. ⋯ Baseline MPV is an independent risk factor for early neurological deterioration and three months poor prognosis in patients with acute mild cerebral infarction undergoing intravenous thrombolysis.

Recurrent episodes of Portal Systemic Encephalopathy (PSE), poses a significant burden of illness on the patients and healthcare system. The objective of this study was to assess the recurrence of PSE in cirrhotic patients after index episode of PSE and to identify various risk factors associated with it. ⋯ Identification of risk factors during assessment can reduce the recurrence of PSE. We would recommend to validate result of our study on a large scale prospectively.

Task shifting, an approach to address physician shortage through redistribution of clinical tasks, may help address the high burden of chronic respiratory diseases like asthma and COPD. We aimed to measure its utility and impact in the Obstructive Lung Disease program (OLD). ⋯ Trained nurses can play a role in providing holistic and timely care for patients with CRDs and strengthen existing healthcare systems. Future directions may include expanding nurse clinical counselling roles through telehealth monitoring and home management.

To analyze the efficacy of single-channel percutaneous endoscopic lumbar discectomy (PELD) and conventional open surgery in the treatment of lumbar disc herniation (LDH). ⋯ Single-channel PELD can achieve superior clinical efficacy over conventional open surgery in the treatment of LDH.

To explore the clinical effect of budesonide/glycopyrrolate/formoterol fumarate metered dose inhaler (BGF MDI) combined with high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) in the treatment of elderly patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and respiratory failure. ⋯ Compared with HFNC alone, BGF MDI combined with HFNC can effectively regulate the arterial blood gas status of elderly patients with COPD and respiratory failure, restore pulmonary function, and improve the overall treatment effect.
