The effectiveness of the trans-theoretical model in managing adult obese and overweight individuals.
The prevalence of obesity is gradually increasing in our country and worldwide. Being obese and overweight are risk factors for chronic diseases. Obesity has a multifactorial etiology, so treatment should involve lifestyle changes, psychological strategies, pharmacologic treatment, and bariatric surgery. The present study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of the trans-theoretical stages of change (TTM SOC) model in managing adult obese and overweight patients. ⋯ The trans-theoretical model is effective in managing adult obese and overweight individuals and also in glycemic control in obese Type-2 diabetics.

To compare the clinical efficacy of microendoscopic discectomy + fibrous ring suture versus microendoscopic discectomy alone in the treatment of lumbar disc herniation (LDH) in young and middle-aged patients. ⋯ Both of the two surgical methods are effective in the treatment of LDH in young and middle-aged patients, and microendoscopic discectomy + fibrous ring suture in particular may be preferred because it results in significant improvement in patients' VAS and ODI scores.

To assess the cardiorenal protective effects of different doses of atorvastatin in patients with cardiorenal syndrome (CRS) Type-2. ⋯ In the treatment of patients with CRS Type-2, medium dose (20mg/day) atorvastatin can have the same therapeutic effect as the high dose (40mg/day) treatment. Medium dose has a good protective effect on the heart and kidneys of the patients, and helps to reduce inflammatory reactions and improve heart and kidney function.

To explore relevant influencing factors of the prognosis of patients with winter sports-induced traumatic cervical spinal cord injury complicated with intramedullary hemorrhage and edema after emergency surgical treatment. ⋯ Emergency surgery can improve the neurological function of patients with cervical spinal cord injury complicated with intramedullary hemorrhage and edema caused by winter sports. Concomitant diabetes, preoperative MSCC and recovery rate of AMS 3d after operation are the main factors affecting the prognosis of patients with emergency surgery.
