Focal area of necrosis, with a surrounding membrane within the brain parenchyma, usually resulting from an infectious process or rarely from a traumatic process known as brain abscess. We report a case of young female, who presented with multiple abscess in left frontal and right occipital region of brain, she was otherwise immunocompetent, lacking any known risk factor for opportunistic infection. ⋯ This infection leads to acute kidney injury (AKI), necessitating kidney replacement therapy (RRT) in term of intermittent hemodialysis (IHD). After drainage of abscess and antifungal therapy, she responded well, her acute kidney injury resolved and she showed clinical and radiological improvement.

Recent years have seen a rise in the usage of dental implants to restore lost teeth. The stability of a dental implant is the main factor in determining its success. Implant stability is influenced by various factors. Several approaches have been employed clinically to evaluate stability at different time intervals. One non-invasive way to assess implant stability is by resonance frequency analysis. Utilizing the resonance frequency analysis method, this study seeks to understand how implant length and diameter affect primary and secondary stability. ⋯ Without forfeiting implant stability, both implant sizes (4 x 10mm and 4.5 x 8.5mm) can be used interchangeably, depending on available space and anatomical constraints.

To explore the clinical effect of ranibizumab combined with laser photocoagulation (LP) in treating diabetic macular edema (DME). ⋯ Compared to ranibizumab or LP alone, ranibizumab combined with LP is more effective in reducing ME in patients with DEM, and is associated with fewer complications.

To compare the uniportal and multiportal video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) in patients with non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). ⋯ UVATS and MVATS have similar outcomes in patients with NSCLC. Although UVATS surgery takes longer and is associated with more interoperative bleeding, it can reduce postoperative pain, shorten postoperative recovery time, and help further improve the quality of life of patients after surgery.

To assess the effect of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) nutrition treatment (Bushenhuoxue nutritional decoction) in overweight patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). ⋯ Combined with conventional drug treatment, TCM nutrition treatment can significantly improve glucose and lipid metabolism, hormone levels, and TCM syndrome of overweight PCOS patients, increase the ovulation and pregnancy rates, and reduce potential adverse reactions.
