In recent decades, there has been an increase in early-onset colorectal cancer, the need to screen individuals younger than 50 years of age, and the presence of histopathological differences remains unclear. The objective of this study was to explore the occurrence of polyps in both young adults and older individuals and to examine their potential correlation with colorectal cancer. ⋯ Our current results confirm the detection of sporadic colorectal adenomas and advanced neoplasia in young adults. It is important to establish professional community guidelines for surveillance colonoscopy in these age groups.

Mixed-phenotype acute leukemia (MPAL) is rare in the clinic, accounting for approximately 2%-5% of acute leukemia cases. ⋯ Survival analysis suggests that the survival time of ALL and MPN patients receiving TKI treatment is better than that of patients not receiving this treatment. Dasatinib or nilotinib, especially the former, is more effective than imatinib for MPN.

The purpose of this review was to examine the association between neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) and mortality rates in patients with acute pulmonary embolism (PE). ⋯ Current evidence from retrospective studies shows that NLR can independently predict mortality in acute PE. Data on PLR was limited and failed to indicate an independent role in the prognosis of PE patients. Registration No. PROSPERO (CRD42023407573).

This study aimed to determine the epidemiology, clinical features, and complications of extensively drug-resistant Salmonella typhi (XDR S. typhi) infection in adults. ⋯ Diarrhea was the most common associated clinical feature in XDR typhoid fever. Most of the patients received meropenem alone or in combination with azithromycin with a comparable time to defervescence. The majority of the patients recovered uneventfully and there was no mortality among the study participants.
