To screen BRCA1 gene variants and predict potential role of the identified variants in breast cancer. ⋯ Two novel variants were predicted to be pathogenic. In-silico analysis predicted the loss of miRNA binding site along with change in mRNA secondary structure plus stability, possible mechanisms for oncogenesis. Further, expressional studies are required to confirm BRCA1 gene dysregulation in breast cancer due to these variants.

Sigmoid volvulus (SV) recurs in about one quarter of the patients, whereas multiplex (≥3) attacks are quite rare and attacks with five or more times are extremely rare. The aim of this study was to evaluate multiplex SV attacks in our series and worldwide data. ⋯ Although multiplex (≥3) attacks are uncommon in SV, when it goes up, elective surgery must be considered in selected cases to avoid repetitive attacks and related high mortality.

To study whether children with peptic ulcer would have abnormalities in cellular and humoral immune functions, and whether Helicobacter pylori (Hp) infection would affect the immune function of children with peptic ulcer. ⋯ Hp infection can induce the elevation of T lymphocyte subsets. The development of peptic ulcer has an intimate association with the disorder of cellular and humoral immune functions.

This study aimed to investigate the added effect of jaw clenching on the efficacy of lumbar stabilization exercises to manage chronic non-specific low back pain. ⋯ Lumbar stabilization exercises with and without jaw movement are effective for the treatment of chronic non-specific low back pain. The addition of teeth clenching enhanced the effectiveness of lumbar stability exercises, especially in young adults. Trial Registration: Clinicaltrials.gov (NCT04801212), Prospectively registered on March 16, 2021.

To assess the overall survival in patients with intermediate stage hepatocellular carcinoma following transarterial chemoembolization. ⋯ Transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) increases the median survival time effectively and safely in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma. However complete resolution of disease is not possible with TACE, with most patient eventually succumbing to the disease. The overall survival for TACE in this study correlates well with other studies. Child Pugh Class, tumor size and embolization pattern have significant effect on survival of patients.
