To evaluate the comparative influence of NPT and standard surgical dressing administration on incidence risk for surgical site infections, complications, and hospital re-admission after hepatopancreatobiliary surgery. ⋯ This meta-analysis shows that NPT usage slightly reduces risk of hospital readmission as compared to standard surgical dressing. We did not observe any significant effect of NPT on superficial, deep surgical infections, seroma, and haematoma outcomes following hepatopancreatobiliary surgery. These findings may aid clinicians in stratifying risk and selecting treatment strategy in patients undergoing hepatopancreatobiliary surgery.

This review aimed to assess evidence on the safety of cholecystectomy in patients under antithrombotic therapy. ⋯ Current evidence from a limited number of studies indicates that the use of antithrombotic may be associated with an increased risk of bleeding-related complications in patients undergoing cholecystectomies. Antithrombotic use may also increase the risk of conversion to open surgery in patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomies.

To determine the frequency of vaccination status in patients with SARS-CoV-2 infection. ⋯ The frequency of SARS-CoV-2 infection was greater in unvaccinated patients. The odds of developing severe COVID infection in unvaccinated patients versus vaccinated was 8.55 times higher.

To evaluate the efficacy of arthroscopic internal drainage (AID) and cyst wall resection (CWR) in children with popliteal cysts. ⋯ AID plus CWR is a minimally invasive and safe approach for pediatric patients with popliteal cysts to promote postoperative recovery and reduce the recurrence rate.

To determine the effect of Team-based learning (TBL) on the critical thinking of health professions students. ⋯ TBL improves five out of six dimensions of students' critical thinking. Besides its established evidence to increase knowledge, TBL can also be used as a teaching methodology for enhancing students' critical thinking.
