This study was conducted to evaluate the diagnostic and prognostic value of B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) in different categories of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) patients on arrival. ⋯ BNP can be a useful Biomarker along with standard cardiac biomarkers in various categories of patients with ACS.

To determine the levels of vitamin B12 in pregnant women and to explore the relationship of vitamin B12 with maternal BMI and gestational diabetes mellitus. ⋯ Low vitamin B12 levels have an association with maternal BMI and gestational diabetes mellitus.

To evaluate the effectiveness of the Lever Sign test (LST) for diagnosing anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) ruptures. ⋯ The LST was found to have good specificity, sensitivity, PPV, NPV and accuracy to detect the status of the ACL. The LST is easy to perform can be used along with other standard assessment techniques to further increase the validation of the status of the ACL diagnosis.

India's public healthcare system is reeling under the pressure of the COVID-19 pandemic, with the country reporting over 30 million cases and 481,000 deaths by the end of 2021. The rise of the omicron variant threatens to add further strain on a chronically underfunded public health system, which a considerable proportion of the population living in poverty depend on. ⋯ This write up calls for a major and urgent reform of the doctor and patient experience, achievable through prioritized funding to strengthen healthcare infrastructure, improving job security and satisfaction for healthcare workers, and improving the quality and safety of care delivered to patients throughout the nation. India must build a healthcare system focused on ensuring patient satisfaction and a positive patient experience by offering convenient healthcare access and high standards of care and treatment delivery.

To investigate the comparative diagnostic accuracy of cardiac computed tomography (CT) and transoesophageal echocardiography (TEE) for detecting infective endocarditis. ⋯ CT performs statistically significantly better than TEE for detecting abscesses while TEE provides statistically significant superior results for detecting vegetation. There is a need for well-designed prospective studies to further corroborate these findings.
