This study aimed to investigate the predictive value of cardiac cycle time-corrected electromechanical activation time (EMATc) for major adverse cardiovascular events (MACEs) in outpatients with chronic heart failure (CHF) in comparison with other clinic indexes. ⋯ BNP level can predict the risk for poor prognosis in CHF patients. EMATc>15% is an independent risk factor for cardiogenic death and should be considered as a supplement to serum BNP level and other clinical indexes for predicting cardiogenic death in CHF outpatients.

To investigate the effect of 1% procaine injection, which is used in neural therapy, on shoulder pain and dysfunction in patients diagnosed with supraspinatus tendinopathy. ⋯ This is one of the rare studies showing the effects of neural therapy application on shoulder pain severity and dysfunction in patients with supraspinatus tendinitis who are resistant to medical therapy.

To investigate the effect of Kegel pelvic floor muscle training combined with clean intermittent self-catheterization on patients with cervical cancer, and to analyze the risk factors affecting urinary retention. ⋯ Catheter indwelling time, urinary tract infection, surgical incision infection and surgical margin are the risk factors for postoperative urinary retention in patients with cervical cancer. With Kegel pelvic floor muscle exercise combined with clean intermittent self-catheterization, a variety of benefits can be realized, such as improved bladder function, reduced incidence of urinary tract infections and urinary retention, as well as increased patient comfort.

The most frequently used surgical methods for treating cholesteatoma include canal wall up and canal wall down procedures. The objective of the study was to compare the hearing improvement among children with cholesteatoma who underwent canal wall up and canal wall down surgical management. ⋯ Our data collected after a one-year follow-up of patients suggests canal wall up as a preferred technique for hearing improvement than canal wall down technique.

To evaluate right ventricular diastolic function in patients with coronary slow flow phenomenon (CSFP) by using Doppler tissue imaging (DTI). ⋯ Right ventricular diastolic function in patients with CSFP is decreased, and this can be identified using DTI. DTI has important applicative value for evaluating right ventricular diastolic function in patients with CSFP.
