Sigmoid volvulus (SV) recurrence more than 10 times is an extremely rare clinical entity and spontaneous detorsion is a rare outcome of SV. In this paper, we report a case with 19 previous SV attacks, in last of which spontaneous detorsion occurred. Such a multiple-episode history as well as an unexpected recovery was unique in a 1,036-case clinical profession of Ataturk University with SV over a 54.5-year period.

Sc degree programs in various science disciplines, including medical sciences. This manuscript explores the dynamics of a higher doctorate and its significance, need, and demand in academia to compete globally.

To observe and analyze the visual outcomes of cataract surgery of ten years at a tertiary eye care hospital, Karachi. ⋯ The institution achieved WHO recommended criteria of "good visual outcome" (6/6 to 6/18) of 81.83% which is near to recommended ≥ 90% and severe visual impairment of 4.26%.

In this study we determined the frequency of renal dysfunction and its outcomes in terms of morbidity and mortality in patients who underwent open heart surgery at the Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi, Pakistan. ⋯ Timely recognition of renal dysfunction, early renal replacement therapy, diuretics or dialysis and proper nutritional and inotropic support to maintain adequate hemostasis shows survival benefits.

The Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has caused widespread psychological distress. The aims of the study were a) to assess mental health symptoms experienced by expatriate hospital staff and b) to determine the impact of staff wellbeing interventions specific to pandemic related stress. ⋯ As in other parts of the world, hospital staff in Qatar experienced mental health symptoms and significant fear related to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Being single and in poor health status were risk factors. Mental health interventions at work must take into account time constraints experienced by staff.
