To analyze the prevalence & characteristics of sudden sensorineural hearing loss. ⋯ We conclude that the prevalence of SSNHL is 3.7% being significantly more prevalent in males and those aged15-25 years. It is mostly characterized by severe to profound degree of hearing loss with downward sloping audiogram with no associated vertigo, tinnitus and side predilection.

To investigate the blood plasma levels of Fetuin-A protein in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and healthy controls that could offer novel diagnostic biomarkers of disease development in ASD. Another objective was to investigate the severity of autistic children by Childhood Autism Rating Scale (CARS) and Short Sensory Profile (SSP). ⋯ Overall the low Fetuin-A plasma values in ASD subjects, most likely show that Fetuin-A could be associated in the physiology of autism. Further studies with larger patient and control cohorts will be necessary to determine whether Fetuin-A can be used as a biomarker for ASD.

To investigate the changes in levels of C-reactive protein (CRP) and hematological parameters among smokeless tobacco (SLT) users. ⋯ Significantly elevated CRP was observed in SLT users similarly hematological parameters also showed changes. WBCs, monocytes and ESR were significantly deranged among SLT users. Further studies looking into long term effects of these changes would be helpful.

To fine out fatigue frequency and severity by FACIT-F scale in Pakistani cohort with rheumatoid arthritis. ⋯ We have very high frequency of fatigue in RA, increases with disease activity & associated conditions.

To identify factors causing diagnostic and therapeutic delay in patients with rheumatoid arthritis, and to evaluate relationship of diagnostic and therapeutic delay with disease outcome. ⋯ Diagnostic and therapeutic delay were associated with older age, lower education and delayed consultation with rheumatologist but not with positive RA factor. Positive anti-CCP antibodies were associated with diagnostic delay only. Diagnostic and therapeutic delay led to high disease activity and poor functional outcome in RA patients.
