This qualitative study aimed to explore motivational sources of physicians, at the time of selection and while pursuing ObGyn career. Secondary aim was to explore challenges and strategies adapted by these physicians to overcome these challenges. ⋯ Considering personal preference and aptitude at the time of career selection helps in endurance and keep motivations high, while challenges in pursuance can be overcome by strong support system.

This study aimed to highlight the importance of mutations within Proteus mirabilis genome that are related to fluoroquinolone resistance. ⋯ Ciprofloxacin resistance in P. mirabilis could be monitored through detection of mutations within DNA gyrase (encoded by gyrA and gyrB) and topoisomerase IV (encoded by parC and parE).

To study the causative variants in affected member of a Saudi family with Tay-Sachs disorder. This disorder includes paralysis, decreasing in attentiveness, seizures, blindness, motor deterioration progresses rapidly leading to a completely unresponsive state and a cherry-red spot visible on the eye. ⋯ We detected homozygous mutation in HEXA gene that may lead to cause Tay-Sachs disorder. Moreover, explain the possibility that HEXA gene may play important role for multiple aspects of normal human neurodevelopment.

To determine the association of serum osteoprotegerin (OPG) with the severity of chronic liver disease in female patients. ⋯ The levels of serum Osteoprotegerin is increased in severe form of chronic liver disease (Class C) of Child-Pughs classification as compared to mild (Class A) and moderate (Class B) forms of Child-Pughs classification.

To determine the incidence of acute bilirubin encephalopathy (ABE) and its risk factors in neonates presenting with hyperbilirubinemia in a tertiary care children hospital. ⋯ In present study, ABE was diagnosed in 14.0% neonates who presented with hyperbilirubinemia. We found pre-term delivery as a significant risk factor of ABE.
