To explore the correlation of procalcitonin (PCT) and gelsolin (GSN) with the prognosis of urosepsis patients. ⋯ The serum PCT and plasma GSN levels can accurately predict the severity and prognosis of urosepsis patients and reflect the disease state of early urosepsis patients. High PCT levels and low GSN levels indicate poor prognosis, and clinicians should consider these values.

To investigate the effect of pan retinal photocoagulation (PRP) on Optic nerve head blood flow with OCT angiography in patients with proliferative diabetic retinopathy. ⋯ OCT angiography revealed there is significantly reduced optic nerve head blood flow in PRP treated eyes compared to non-PRP treated eyes.

To determine the clinical value of a matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) antibody array in diagnosing gastric cancer (GC). ⋯ The detection of multiple serum MMPs with protein biochip technology is promising to be used as a novel non-invasive tool for facilitating early diagnosis or screening of GC.

Parathormone (PTH) and serum Vitamin D3 (VD3) share a complex interplay where increased VD3 leads to a negative response on parathormone level. Our objective was to determine the correlation of parathormone (PTH) and Vitamin D3 (VD3) levels in nursing mothers and infants 1-6 months' age from South Punjab, Pakistan. ⋯ Our study affirms that the customary negative correlation between VD3 and parathormone levels does not exist.
