Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a significant public health issue worldwide due to the associated comorbidities. Recent studies have demonstrated a strong relationship between blood glucose levels and serum ferritin levels in patients with type 2 DM. The aim of the study was to investigate the association between Ferritin Levels and Inflammatory Markers on HbA1c in the Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Patients. ⋯ Our study results show a significant relationship between HbA1c levels and serum ferritin and CRP levels, suggesting that serum ferritin and CRP levels can be used as a routine screening tool for the early diagnosis of DM. However, further large-scale, prospective studies are needed to confirm these findings.

Neonatal evaluations performed at the very first minutes following postpartum are the most important steps in deciding for neonatal resuscitation. Therefore, the newborn initial care and evaluation notion and skills of midwives in the delivery hall are quite important. The study was planned to determine the effects of simulation education on newborn evaluation and care skills in midwifery students. ⋯ Education programs that are carried out by computer-assisted simulation and in accordance with the teaching guide were effective on improvement of knowledge-skills on newborns' first evaluations in the delivery room.

To determine the frequency of impaired renal functions and hypertension in rheumatoid arthritis. ⋯ In RA decline in renal functions is seen with self-use NSAID's/hakeem medications along with other modifiable factors like smoking and hypertension, while conventional DMARD's don't show association with decline. There is very high prevalence of hypertension in rheumatoid arthritis.

Kidney Injury Molecule-1 (KIM-1) is a peptide whose release into circulation is specific to tubular injury. This study aimed to estimate levels of kidney injury molecule-1 in diabetic patients with and without kidney disease. And evaluate the role of KIM-1 as an early screening marker of progressive kidney injury. ⋯ Rising KIM-1 levels with progressive kidney damage with or without derangement of kidney function is reported in this study. This finding may pave a way towards identifying KIM1 as a prognostic marker for kidney injury.

To explore the efficacy of amiodarone in the treatment of atrial fibrillation for patients with rheumatic heart disease after valve replacement. ⋯ Amiodarone can effectively treat valve replacement associated atrial fibrillation of patients with rheumatic heart disease. It can significantly improve the heart function, prevent the recurrence of atrial fibrillation, maintain sinus rhythm after operation, and shorten the time of ICU monitoring and hospitalization.
