To investigate the potential harmful effects of potassium dichromate and magnesium sulphate causing oxidative stress and reproductive toxicity in adult male mice model. ⋯ We concluded from present study that potassium dichromate and magnesium sulphate causes oxidative stress by generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and causing DNA damage in testicular cells leading to adverse reproductive abnormalities.

To determine the antibiogram of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) in patients with diabetes. ⋯ A total of 585 pathogens were isolated from 542 specimens of patients with diabetes. One hundred twenty one (20.68%) Pseudomonas aeruginosa and 25(4.27%) non-aeruginosa Pseudomonas were detected from 542 samples. Among 108 (18%) samples detecting the growth of Staphylococcus aureus, Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) were found in 42 (39%) samples. Pseudomonas aeruginosa showed marked susceptibility to imipenem (100%) followed by piperacillin / tazobactam (90.91%). All MRSA positive specimens were susceptible to vancomycin, but highly or completely resistant to the other antimicrobial drugs. Conclusion : In the present study imipenem, piperacillin/tazobactam and sulbactam-cefoperazone were found to be the most effective drugs against Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The majority of MRSA were resistant to one or more than one antimicrobial drugs. Vancomycin and imipenem were the most effective drugsagainstStaphylococcus aureus and MRSA. .

Hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) with serious complications and fatal cases have been reported over the last decade worldwide. The authors report a rare case of HFMD in a neonate complicated with brainstem encephalitis and pulmonary edema. She had fever, lethargy, dyspnea. ⋯ She recovered well. This case highlights severe HFMD in neonates is rare. Medical history and physical examination are important in making diagnosis.

The aim of this study was to determine frequency of thyroid incidentalomas (TI) through ultrasound (US) and its association with age, gender and ethnicities. ⋯ Frequency of thyroid incidentalomas found in our study was higher than most of the other iodine sufficient states. Unlike other studies, incidentalomas were equally common in both the genders of our study. This may be due to the previous iodine deficient status of Pakistan which was prevalent. However further studies on the same topic will help us in identifying the correct status of thyroid incidentalomas if Pakistan retains it's status as an iodine sufficient state.

To evaluate the expression of Von Hippel Lindau (VHL) gene in diagnosed cases of renal cell carcinoma. ⋯ The present study shows that majority of CCRCC showed VHL mutation including the hybrid tumor with clear cell component in our population.
