To determine the frequency of etiological factors in short statured patients presenting at endocrine clinic of National Institute of Child Health, Karachi. ⋯ Most common cause of short stature was normal variants of growth as a group. Children with height falling below 0.4(th) percentile are more likely to have pathological cause.

To compare outcomes of vaginal and abdominal hysterectomy procedures in women with benign gynaecological diseases. ⋯ Vaginal hysterectomy has advantages over AH in the treatment of benign gynaecological diseases, providing greater efficacy and safety with minimal invasiveness.

To assess inpatient management of non-critically ill type 2 diabetics with different insulin regimen. ⋯ In non-critically ill type 2 diabetic patients the basal bolus regimen is superior to sliding and pre-mixed insulin regimen. Sliding scale should be discouraged in non-critically ill type 2 diabetic patients.

The study on sub clinical rickets is unique in the sense that it has not been preplanned conducted anywhere especially in Pakistan. The objective of present study was to explore the prevalence, gender and geographical distribution of sub clinical rickets and their related factors among school students. ⋯ Sub clinical rickets is camouflagic rickets among Hazarian school students, especially in girl gender. The major cause contributed to this problem is lack of synergistic effect of Sunshine Vitamin D.

This study assessed the osteogenic effect (T-Score) and changes in bone markers in healthy subjects by 12-weeks of aerobic training. ⋯ The results showed that the 12 weeks of moderate aerobic training produced a significant improvement in all bone metabolism indices including Serum bone-specific alkaline phosphatase, serum osteocalcin, serum free Calcium and bone mineral density among all subjects. Conclusion : Moderate intensity of aerobic training exerts significant positive effects on bone formation marker and bone density associated with a significant decrease in the rate of bone resorption that could assist in preventing or decelerating osteoporosis.
