Maternal mortality is a global concern primarily due to preventable obstetric complications. Challenges in implementing Emergency Obstetric Care (EmOC) in developing nations hinder effective reduction of these deaths. Our objective was to identify key challenges in EmOC practices among frontline healthcare providers, assess the severity and frequency of these barriers, and evaluate gaps in resources, training, and institutional support needed for effective resolution. ⋯ Despite high course content satisfaction, disparities in EmOC knowledge and practice persist among frontline healthcare-providers, with barriers like insufficient training and institutional limitations impacting maternal outcomes.

The specific influence of the pre-pregnancy body mass index (PPBMI) on women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is unclear. Our objective was to investigate how PPBMI categories affect pregnancy and neonatal outcomes in women with GDM. ⋯ PPBMIs significantly impact pregnancy outcomes in women with GDM. Both underweight and overweight/obese categories are associated with adverse outcomes, highlighting the need for pre-pregnancy counseling and interventions to achieve and maintain a healthy BMI.

To investigate the correlation between endometriosis (EMs) severity and placenta accreta spectrum (PAS) risk in the subsequent pregnancy. ⋯ The risk of PAS in patients with endometriosis increases with the R-AFS score. PAS is more likely to occur in women with ovarian EMs combined with DIE. It is necessary to implement a specific monitoring program during pregnancy in patients with a history of severe EMs.

This retrospective cohort study aimed to investigate the effects of parity on gestational weight gain (GWG) and its association with maternal and neonatal outcomes in women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). ⋯ Parity significantly influences GWG and maternal/neonatal outcomes in GDM pregnancies, highlighting the need for parity-specific guidelines.

The aim of the study was to examine the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on frequency of well-child follow-up visits and immunization rate in Turkish tertiary reference hospital's Well-Child Care Outpatient Clinic. ⋯ The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on healthcare. In addition to the effects that emerged during the pandemic period, it is predicted that there will be many reflections in the post-pandemic period, especially affecting the vulnerable population. Although our study was conducted in a single centre, it is of great importance in terms of revealing the efforts made by healthcare workers in the field of child health follow-up and vaccination during the pandemic period and emphasising that primary healthcare services should continue.
