Patients' Perceptions and Preferences Regarding Two Different Forms of Methotrexate Autoinjectors for Moderate to Severe Rheumatoid Arthritis: A European Crossover Survey.
Treatment adherence is crucial in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The device used by the patients for self-injections may influence adherence to methotrexate (MTX) treatment. A MTX-autoinjector has been recently marketed in Europe. This crossover survey compared this MTX-autoinjector (MTX-autoinjector A) and an already existing MTX-autoinjector (MTX-autoinjector B) from the patients' perspective. ⋯ Even though deserving further studying, these findings are expected to guide clinicians when prescribing or renewing prescription of MTX-autoinjector, in particular in poor or non-compliant patients. In a context of growing interest in shared decision-making, the objective would be to choose with each patient the best suited MTX-autoinjector, and ultimately, to obtain a better treatment adherence.

Factors Affecting Adherence to Co-Trimoxazole Preventive Therapy in HIV/AIDS Patients Attending an Antiretroviral Therapy Clinic in Ethiopia University Hospital: A Cross-Sectional Study.
This study aimed to assess the factors that affect adherence to co-trimoxazole preventive therapy (CPT) among human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-positive adults in an antiretroviral therapy (ART) clinic at the University of Gondar Compressive Specialized Teaching Hospital (UOGCSTH). ⋯ The overall adherence to CPT was fair in our study. To improve the adherence, continuous education and counseling, giving group service support for clients and having a separate counseling room are some of the possible solutions.

ReviewMeasuring the Patient Experience of Mental Health Care: A Systematic and Critical Review of Patient-Reported Experience Measures.
There is growing concern about measuring patient experience with mental health care. There are currently numerous patient-reported experience measures (PREMs) available for mental health care, but there is little guidance for selecting the most suitable instruments. The objective of this systematic review was to provide an overview of the psychometric properties and the content of available PREMs. ⋯ This work is a critical step in the creation of an item library to measure mental health care patient-reported experience that will be used in France to develop, validate, and standardize item banks and computerized adaptive testing (CAT) based on IRT. It will also provide internationally replicable measures that will allow direct comparisons of mental health care systems.

ReviewRomiplostim for the Treatment of Immune Thrombocytopenia: Spotlight on Patient Acceptability and Ease of Use.
Immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) is an immune-mediated disorder resulting in platelet destruction and subsequent thrombocytopenia. Bleeding symptoms range from mild cutaneous bleeding to life-threatening hemorrhage. Romiplostim, a peptide-antibody fusion product, is a thrombopoietin receptor agonist (TPO-RA) indicated for use in patients with ITP. ⋯ FDA approval in adults with chronic ITP was expanded in October 2019 to include adults with newly diagnosed (<3 months' duration) and persistent (3-12 months' duration) ITP who demonstrated an inadequate response to first-line therapies, including corticosteroids and immunoglobulins, or splenectomy. The newly published 2019 American Society of Hematology ITP Guidelines place TPO-RAs, including romiplostim, as second-line therapies in both children and adults. Here, we review the use of romiplostim as second-line therapy with a spotlight on health-related quality of life, ease of use, and patient preference.

ReviewReasons for Nonadherence to Statins - A Systematic Review of Reviews.
Lipid-lowering medications are often prescribed to decrease the risk of micro- and macro-cardiovascular complications related to dyslipidaemia. Despite widespread prescription of lipid-lowering drugs, including statins, adherence to therapy is a challenge worldwide. This systematic review of reviews aimed to conduct a critical appraisal and synthesis of review findings and to provide an overview of the factors that were found to affect adherence to lipid-lowering drugs, focusing on statins, in the reviews. ⋯ This review of reviews has evaluated the impact of factors on adherence statins. Further research related to modifiable predictors for non-adherence is warranted.
