The Association Between Beliefs and Adherence to Inhaled Controller Medication Among Older Adults with Asthma: A Cross-Sectional Study in Primary Care.
While illness perceptions and medication beliefs have been shown to be associated with inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) adherence in younger adults with asthma, their impact on older adults is less understood. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of ICS adherence among older Asian adults and to assess the association between ICS adherence, illness perceptions and medication beliefs. ⋯ Four in ten older patients with asthma were adherent to ICS. Perception of medication necessity, chronicity of illness, concerns and use of ICS-LABA medication were associated with adherence.

Correlation Between Patients' Medication Adherence and Their Psychological Contract with Hospital Pharmacists.
To investigate the correlation between patients' medication adherence and their psychological contract with hospital pharmacists under the background of the pharmacist-patient relationship, providing a reference for improving the pharmacist-patient relationship and the patients' medication adherence based on the patients' psychological contract with the hospital pharmacists. ⋯ Outpatients' psychological contract with the pharmacists is positively correlated with their medication adherence. Maintaining the patients' psychological contract with the pharmacists may be an effective way to improve medication adherence.

Willingness-to-Pay and Benefit-Cost Analysis of IPL for Rosacea Treatment: A Cross-Sectional Study in China.
Intense pulsed light (IPL), as a therapeutic approach for rosacea, had advantage in removing erythema and telangiectasia and was gradually accepted by rosacea patients, but there have been few studies on economic evaluation of this therapy. ⋯ IPL is an acceptable treatment for rosacea with moderate to severe erythema. For patients with relatively high income or severely impaired quality of life, IPL is an economically feasible therapy and deserves to be recommended.

Depression, Anxiety, Psychological Symptoms and Health-Related Quality of Life in People Living with HIV.
To investigate the levels of depression, anxiety, psychological symptoms and health-related quality of life (HRQOL) in people infected with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and to assess the risk factors. ⋯ Depression and anxiety were very common in PLWHIV. Physicians should not only focus on the antiviral treatment of these patients but also monitor their mental status, especially that of younger patients. For PLWHIV with depression and anxiety, psychological intervention should be provided, and social role rebuilding may be good for depression and anxiety alleviation.

Relationship Between Adherence to Opioid Analgesics and Pain Beliefs Among Patients with Cancer Pain at Tertiary Care Hospitals in Malaysia.
Pain is a common and distressing symptom among cancer patients. Opioid analgesics are the mainstay of cancer pain management, and adequate adherence plays an important role in achieving good pain control. ⋯ The overall adherence to opioid analgesics among Malaysian patients with cancer pain was good. Negative effects beliefs regarding cancer pain and opioids strongly predicted adherence.
