Impact of Routines and Rituals on Burden of Treatment, Patient Training, Cognitive Load, and Anxiety in Self-Injected Biologic Therapy.
Self-injection of biologics is a mainstay of chronic disease treatment, yet the process of self-injection often causes persistent apprehension and anxiety, distinct from needle phobia. While literature alludes to the role that routines and rituals play in self-injection, there is no comprehensive study on the routines and rituals self-injectors employ, nor of the process by which they are discovered and ingrained. ⋯ Our findings suggest that providing patients device training using adult learning principles, teaching routines and rituals concurrently, and providing at-home opportunities for practice with a device trainer may be useful strategies to reduce anxiety, avoid unnecessary experimentation, and improve adherence to injection therapy. While further studies are needed to generalize our findings, we posit that routine and ritual elements can be incorporated into existing patient-clinician interactions or novel digital interventions through mobile medical applications, smart training devices, and connected injection ecosystems.

Exploring the Gap Between Patients' Expectations and Perceptions of Healthcare Service Quality.
This study aimed to explore the gap between patients' expectations of healthcare service quality in Jordanian hospitals against their perceptions of service received using SERVQUAL model. ⋯ Hospital managers should take necessary actions to improve healthcare services in their hospitals with respect to all SERVQUAL domains. These actions should be directed to reduce the gap between patients' expectation and their perceptions in order to provide services meet patients' needs.

ReviewClinical Evaluation of Siponimod for the Treatment of Secondary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis: Pathophysiology, Efficacy, Safety, Patient Acceptability and Adherence.
A number of disease-modifying therapies have been approved for use in relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (MS) in the past two decades. However, only few treatment options are available for patients with secondary progressive multiple sclerosis (SPMS). Siponimod has recently been approved for use in patients with active forms of SPMS (who experience clinical relapses or new lesions on MRI superimposed on secondary progression independent of relapse activity). ⋯ Long-term extension and real-world studies will allow further evaluation of efficacy and safety in this population. Future research should focus on better defining SPMS, and identifying biomarkers of progression and outcome measures of treatment response in this category of patients.

Finalization and Validation of Questionnaire and Algorithm of SPUR, a New Adherence Profiling Tool.
The SPUR (Social, Psychological, Usage and Rational) Adherence Profiling Tool is a recently developed adaptive instrument for assessing key patient-level drivers for non-adherence. This study describes the SPUR questionnaire's finalization and psychometric evaluation. ⋯ SPUR is a valid tool to evaluate the risk of non-adherence of patients, allowing effective intervention by providing insights into the respective individual reasons for lack of adherence.

Support Life Club: A New Model Based on Social Media Group Chats and Social Activities That Can Improve Adherence and Clinical Outcomes in Patients Receiving Cardiac Rehabilitation.
To describe a new model, the Support Life Club (SLC), for participants of Phase II cardiac rehabilitation (CR) programs and to evaluate this model for adherence, completion rates, and clinical outcomes. ⋯ The addition of SLC to a cardiac rehabilitation program resulted in better outcomes for PHQ9 and 6MWT tests and may be a useful strategy to improve exercise adherence.
