Quantitative Adherence Level Evaluation Among Long-Term Antiretroviral Therapy Patients in Latvia.
The global prevalence of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) remains substantial, particularly in regions with limited resources, despite the progress in scientific knowledge and the accessibility of antiretroviral therapy (ART). ART is the cornerstone of HIV treatment. Ensuring proper adherence to medication therapy is essential for effective HIV infection control. Meanwhile, Latvia reported one of the highest rates of HIV infections among EU countries. ⋯ Medication adherence level to ART is low in Latvia. Less than 3% of patients achieved optimal adherence levels with a PDC higher than 90%. These results are concerning. Further studies and interventions must be conducted to enhance adherence levels.

Significance of Self-Injectable Biologics in Japanese Patients with Severe Allergic Diseases: Focusing on Pen-Type Devices and Copayment.
A questionnaire survey was administered to 18, 14, and 3 patients introduced to home self-injection of dupilumab or mepolizumab using a pen-type device for atopic dermatitis, asthma alone, and asthma plus chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps, respectively. ⋯ Administration of biologics using pen-type devices is easier, and the introduction of home self-injection leads to a reduction in outpatient visits and copayment.

COVID-19 Vaccine Hesitancy and Its Associated Factors Among Adolescents.
Currently, COVID-19 disease is a major public health issue that affects a large number of people worldwide. The COVID-19 vaccine is one of the best preventative measures. Adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17 are eligible to get the COVID-19 vaccine. The COVID-19 pandemic cannot be stopped if people are reluctant to use this vaccine. However, the extent of COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy and related variables among adolescents are not well understood. ⋯ This study shows that COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy among adolescents is very high. Being female, poor knowledge towards COVID-19 disease and the vaccine, an unfavorable attitude and social media were factors significantly associated with COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy.

Developing a Suite of Resources to Improve Patient Adherence to Compression Stockings: Application of Behavior Change Theory.
Poor patient adherence to compression stockings remains a difficult and pervasive problem for clinicians, with costly repercussions for patients and health-care systems. The purpose of this paper was to describe the application of behavior change theory to the systematic development of a suite of resources, aimed at improving patient adherence to wearing compression stockings. ⋯ These novel resources have potential to improve patient adherence to compression stockings and consequently generate health-care savings through reduced need for wound care products, and medical interventions with translation to other settings and conditions requiring compression stockings. Patient outcomes will likely be improved with reduced pain, improved quality of life and earlier resumption of usual occupations.

The Perspective of Patients and Health Professionals on the Prioritization of Assisted Reproductive Techniques. The PRIOFER Study.
To determine the perspective of patients and professionals in Assisted Reproduction Units (ARU) on the importance of assisted reproductive techniques (ART) compared to other elective procedures, to highlight the relevance of ART as an elective procedure and the impact of delayed interventions on patients. ⋯ Preference studies involving patients and professionals can provide important information to define framework criteria for the management of waiting lists for elective procedures, and to prioritize interventions during pandemic periods. The pandemic impact on infertility patients highlights the relevance of developing measures and strategies to cope with similar future situations in the most appropriate way.
