The presence of clinically relevant mutations in KRAS and NRAS genes determines the response of anti-epidermal growth factor receptor antibody therapy for metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC). The only quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR)-based diagnostic tests approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) screen merely for mutations in codons 12 and 13 of KRAS. ⋯ While these kits based on qPCR can be very practical and highly sensitive, their mutation coverage ignores mutations from poorly genetically characterized populations.

Echinococcus granulosus (Eg) is a parasite causing an incidental infection in humans. The disease can be observed as a hydatid cyst in the liver and lungs and is found in dogs and wolves as definitive hosts. It is considered a neglected infectious disease which has rarely been studied in Mexico1.

Comparison of Sublingual and Intramuscular Administration of Vitamin B12 for the Treatment of Vitamin B12 Deficiency in Children.
In most countries, contrary to some disadvantages, such as pain, relatively higher cost, and poor adherence to treatment, intramuscular (IM) route is still the primary treatment method for Vitamin B12 (VB12) deficiency. In recent years, because of these difficulties, new treatment methods are being sought for VB12 deficiency. ⋯ SL cyanocobalamin and methylcobalamin were found as effective as IM cyanocobalamin for children with Vitamin 12 deficiency in correcting serum Vitamin 12 level and hematologic abnormalities.

A 6 s spirometry with an inexpensive pocket spirometer efficiently selects individuals for a diagnostic-quality spirometry for airflow limitation, but could also be useful to identify individuals with a restrictive pattern. ⋯ An FEV1 < 87%P from a pre-BD 6 s spirometry correctly identified individuals with spirometric ventilatory defects, either obstructive or restrictive.

Underestimation of the number of cases during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has been a constant concern worldwide. Detection of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) RNA using realtime reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) is the most common method to confirm a case. However, these tests have suboptimal sensitivity. ⋯ Accounting for SARS-CoV-2 RT-PCR-based diagnostic tests’ precision is a simple way to improve estimations for the true number of COVID-19 cases among tested persons.
