PRO (patient reported outcomes) is a patient's subjective assessment of health and quality of life, without interpretation by a specialist. PROM (patient reported outcomes measure) questionnaires are used to analyzing this data. Assessment of the quality of life is a perspective direction, which allows to improve the quality of medical care and treatment results. ⋯ PROM questionnaires are widely used among patients with cancer. However, incorrect use of PROMs is found in the literature, and in patients with certain nosologies PROM data studied poorly. Further analysis of the potential of PROM questionnaires implementation is required, as well as their translation and adaptation for use in Russian health care.

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) can cause early atherosclerosis. There is a correlation between inflammatory activity in IBD and cardiovascular events. ⋯ This review discusses the possibilities of the mechanisms underlying the relationship between IBD and atherosclerosis, the role of innate and humoral immunity, intestinal microbiota, biomarkers (C-reactive protein, homocysteine, etc.), as well as the possibility of early instrumental diagnosis of subclinical manifestations of atherosclerosis in patients with IBD by measuring carotid intimamedia thickness and aortic pulse wave velocity. The need for active prevention of cardiovascular diseases in this group of patients is emphasized, including through the control of inflammation activity, as well as the inclusion of IBD in one of the risk factors for cardiovascular diseases.

Due to global spread of COVID-19, the search for new factors that could influence its clinical course becomes highly important. This review summarize the relevant publications on the association between immune system and the main regulators of mineral homeostasis including. In addition, we have highlighted the various aspects of phosphorus-calcium metabolism related to the acute respiratory diseases and in particular to COVID-19. The data about the calcium-phosphorus metabolism in SARS-CoV-2 infection is required to understand the possible clinical implications and to develop new therapeutic and preventive interventions.

The parathyroid glands are the most important regulators of mineral metabolism. The parathyroid glands were first discovered only in 1880 and their function went the long way unrecognized. ⋯ To date, there is a large amount of data regarding the role of this endocrine gland in the human body and the significant changes associated with their dysfunction, including such widespread diseases such primary, secondary and tertiary hyperparathyroidism, hypoparathyroidism. This review covers the problem of the main disturbances in calcium-phosphorus metabolism, presents the results of databases of patients with primary hyperparathyroidism and hypoparathyroidism, as well as current epidemiological trends in Russia and in the world.

Allergic rhinitis (AR) is one the most common allergic diseases affecting from 10 to 40% of the population in different countries, including Russia. AR is a risk factor of bronchial asthma, other upper airway disease and may decrease patient quality of life, their productivity, increase probability of occupational traumatism, depression and anxiety. AR also presents a substantial economic burden. ⋯ Double blind placebo-controlled and open clinical trials have confirmed that this combination decreased severity of nasal and ocular symptoms of seasonal and perennial AR, improved patient quality of life and had a good tolerability. Its efficacy was higher than those of monotherapy. Fast onset of action and sustainable effect on symptoms (during 1 yr) may improve adherence patients to the treatment and control of symptoms of AR.
