The most common causes of thyrotoxicosis include Graves’ disease (GD), toxic multinodular goiter (TMNG), toxic adenoma (TA), and subacute granulomatous thyroiditis (SAT). In our study, we aimed to see whether neutrophil‐to‐lymphocyte ratio (NLR), monocyte-to-lymphocyte ratio (MLR), platelet‐to‐lymphocyte ratio (PLR), and mean platelet volume (MPV) may be helpful in the differential diagnosis of these diseases. ⋯ High PLR and NLR may be helpful to differentiate SAT from GD and TA, the other common causes of thyrotoxicosis.

The factors associated with fall-related self-efficacy should be addressed, especially in the elderly. The Modified Falls Efficacy Scale (MFES) is a simple instrument with good scaling properties and reliability. The aim of the present study was to determine the reliability and the validity of the Turkish version of the MFES from the viewpoint of balance. ⋯ The Turkish version of the MFES is a sensitive instrument for evaluation of fall-related confidence while carrying out indoor/outdoor activities. It also predicts falls, reduced physical activity, balance and mobility problems, and restricted social participation and daily living activities.

The aim of this study is to assess the validity and reliability of Turkish translation of the Physical Activity Scale for Individuals with Physical Disabilities (PASIPD) in a disabled Turkish population. ⋯ The Turkish version of the PASIPD survey is valid and reliable for developmentally and physically disabled Turkish individuals and professionals can use it to assess physical activity level.

Degenerative disc disease (DDD) is one of the main causes of lower back pain. In this study, we evaluate the efficacy of percutaneous intradiscal GelStix administration in patients with discogenic pain due to lumbar DDD who were unresponsive to conservative methods. ⋯ Our study results suggest that GelStix treatment is useful in pain relief in patients with DDD from the first month of treatment.

The Pipeline Flex Embolization Device (PED Flex) is a new updated version of the PED classic that incorporates a new delivery system to allow facilitation of stent deployment, resheathing, and removal of the capture coil. This study evaluated the PED Flex in terms of the technical aspects of the procedure and first-year follow-up results. ⋯ Our experience shows that the applicability and safety of the renewed delivery system provided by PED Flex for improving device apposition and opening has been proven with one-year angiographic and clinical follow-up results.
