The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) mostly manifests with fever, shortness of breath, and cough, has also been found to cause some neurological symptoms, such as anosmia and ageusia. The aim of the study was to present the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings of patients with anosmia-hyposmia symptoms and to discuss potential mechanisms in light of these findings. ⋯ This study revealed that there is a relationship between anosmia and MRI findings. Larger studies can enlighten the pathophysiological mechanism and shed light on both diagnosis and new treatments.

This study aimed to determine the blood supply of the distal femoral epiphysis (DFE) using superb microvascular imaging in newborns and infants, and to investigate the correlation with ossification center (OC) length, sex, and age. ⋯ Quantitative reference values for DFE blood supply and OC length can guide the diagnosis and follow-up of many skeletal diseases.

Increased length of stay (LOS) in the palliative care unit (PCU) is a serious burden to the patients and the health care system. The predictors of longer LOS in a PCU have not been reported so far from Turkey. Our aim in this study was to evaluate the factors associated with the LOS in the PCU of a tertiary hospital. ⋯ A longer length of PCU stay is associated with mobilization limitation, tube feeding, permanent tracheostomy, and hypertension. We found no evidence that age, infections or pressure ulcers on admission were associated with extra LOS in the PCU in patients discharged home.

With the increased experience in living donor liver transplantation (LDLT), it has been adopted for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), with emerging discussions of criteria beyond tumor size and number. In contrast to deceased donor liver transplantation (DDLT), recipient selection for LDLT is not limited by organ allocation systems. We discuss herein the assessment, criteria, and experience with liver transplantation (LT) in HCC cases at a high-volume LDLT center. ⋯ LDLT allows us to push the limits forward and the question “Are the criteria always right?” is always on the table. We can conclude that, with the advantage of LDLT, every HCC patient deserves a case-by-case basis discussion for LT under scientific literature support. In borderline cases, tumor biopsy might help determine the decision for LT.

Comparative Study Controlled Clinical Trial
Pulse Steroid Treatment for Hospitalized Adults with COVID-19.
High-dose steroid has been shown to reduce the mortality rate in Corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients who need oxygen support. Here, we evaluated the effectiveness of pulse-steroid in case of unresponsiveness to treatment with high dose steroid. ⋯ Pulse-steroid treatment would be an option for COVID-19 patients who do not respond to the initial high-dose steroid treatment.
