A single-center experience of magnetic resonance imaging findings of fetal sacrococcygeal teratomas.
Sacrococcygeal teratomas (SCT) are known as rare tumors, but they are the most common tumor in fetuses and newborns. This study aims to present fetal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings of SCT diagnosed prenatally and compare them with that of the prenatal Ultrasound (US) findings. ⋯ MRI is found to be superior to US especially in the assessment of intrapelvic and intraspinal extension of the tumor, colonic displacement, and complications.

To evaluate the safety and outcomes of percutaneous transhepatic management of dysfunctioning plastic biliary endoprostheses (PBE) in patients with benign/malign biliary strictures. ⋯ Percutaneous transhepatic methods aid as a reasonable alternative in the treatment of benign and malignant biliary strictures in patients with dysfunctioning PBE when endoscopic approaches fail or are not eligible.

Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS) is a zoonotic viral disease transmitted from dromedaries to humans. To date, more than 1500 cases of MERS have been reported and 80% of all cases have occurred in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). This cross-sectional study was carried out to figure out the rate of infection among humans and dromedary camels and to explore the risk factors. ⋯ The MERS-CoV infection rate was high among both Iraqi humans and dromedary camels. Further confirmatory studies are needed, and setting up of national precaution program is essential.

This study aims to investigate the relationship between gastric wall fat halo sign and potentially associated cardiovascular disease (CVD) in thoracic computed tomography (CT). ⋯ Patients with a gastric wall fat halo may show higher cardiovascular risk because of increased visceral fat tissue, vascular diameters, CTR, heart sizes, presence of DM, HT, increased lipid profile and calcium scores.

Metabolomics has the potential to provide putative biomarkers and insights into the pathophysiology and diagnosis of pediatric multiple sclerosis (pMS), which is an inflammatory demyelinating disorder of the central nervous system with a broad spectrum of clinical manifestations. In this study, we aimed to investigate serum metabolomics in pMS to help elucidate the pathophysiology of MS. ⋯ In general, plasma metabolites related to sphingolipid metabolism, myelin products, inflammatory pathways, mitochondrial dysfunction, and oxidative stress were found to be altered in cases of pMS. The method applied in this study, combining untargeted analysis with a targeted approach, can be applied to larger series of cases of pMS and other demyelinating disorders for further validation.
