Dapagliflozin (DAPA), sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor, is an insulin-independent antidiabetic drug used to control hyperglycaemia by promoting glucose excretion from the kidney. Its adverse effects include orthostatic hypotension, dehydration and urinary tract and genital infections caused by glycosuria. DAPA is subjected to constant additional monitoring, as drugrelated adverse reactions are frequently updated in line with the results of case studies, clinical trials and in vivo studies. Some antidiabetic drugs have shown potential harmful effects on the male reproductive system; however, the effects of DAPA have not been sufficiently studied in this capacity. Aiming to fill this gap in the literature, the present work investigates the toxic effects of DAPA on the male reproductive system. ⋯ Even if DAPA is found to have antioxidant effects, it may raise abnormal sperm counts through a mechanism completely independent of these effects and thus may not have a significant toxic effect on the male reproductive system.

To explore the correlations between glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) and glucose levels in older adults with newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). ⋯ When HbA1c ≥ 6.5% in older people, HbA1c shows the highest correlation with Glucose 0 min of the OGTT. When HbA1c < 6.5%, postprandial hyperglycemia is a main characteristic of older people, and HbA1c shows the highest correlation with Glucose 120 min of the OGTT.

Perioperative FLOT regimen is a standard of care in locally advanced operable gastric and GEJ adenocarcinoma. We aimed to determine the efficacy, prognostic factors of perioperative FLOT chemotherapy in real-life gastric and GEJ tumors. ⋯ Real-life perioperative FLOT regimen in operable gastric and GEJ tumors showed similar oncologic outcomes compared to clinical trials. Better performance status, receiving adjuvant chemotherapy as same regimen, low grade and low NLR and PLR improved outcomes in real-life. However, in multivariate analysis, only NLR affected OS.

The neurodevelopmental profile of healthy children with premature anterior fontanel closure.
We aimed to assess the neurodevelopmental status of healthy children with premature anterior fontanel closure. ⋯ Our results suggest that children with premature fontanel closure may develop motor retardation. These children should, therefore, be closely monitored for neurodevelopmental aspects.

This study aims to analyze the real-life data of patients who were prescribed rivaroxaban and apixaban and to emphasize the points that we think will make a difference compared to randomized controlled studies. ⋯ Stroke rates were found to be higher and to have similar bleeding rates compared to major clinical studies in our real-life analysis. However, high ischemic cerebrovascular event and low nonmajor bleeding rates are remarkable in low dose use of rivaroxaban. It is clear that there is a need to consider existing dose reduction criteria in terms of correct prescribing.
