To reveal the impacts of dapagliflozin, a sodium glucose transporter-2 inhibitor (SGLT-2i), on body weight and body composition, cardiovascular risk indices, and carotid intima-media thickness (CIMT). ⋯ It was observed that dapagliflozin not only contributes to weight and fat loss but also has positive impacts on cardiovascular and atherosclerotic indicators.

Comparative Study
Should valgus-impacted proximal humerus fractures necessarily be operated on? Radiological versus functional results.
Impacted valgus proximal humerus fracture has been known to be challenging in terms of treatment and outcomes since it was defined. Moreover, it is a type of fracture that is difficult to treat. In addition, exact limits have not yet been determined regarding which parameters affect patients' functional and reported outcomes. The purpose of this study was to compare the radiological results of patients with impacted valgus proximal humerus fractures treated conservatively and surgically and to evaluate the effect of these radiological parameters on functional outcomes. ⋯ The monitoring and treatment of impacted valgus proximal humerus fractures remain controversial. Although radiological parameters are a guide for orthopedic surgeons, the limits have not been clearly defined. In this study, in addition to all parameters, the effect of MH and MHI on functional results was emphasized.

Temporomandibular Disorders (TMD), as in the occurrence of many diseases, have been associated with oxidative stress (OS) resulting from the disruption of antioxidant mechanisms and the accumulation of reactive oxygen species in tissues. This study was designed to compare salivary and serum OS and inflammation markers of individuals with TMD and healthy subjects. ⋯ Although the strong correlation between pain scores and serum 8-OHdG and MDA levels supports the hypothesis that inflammation and OS mechanisms may be interrelated, according to the results of the study, inflammatory and OS markers in patients with TMD were not different from healthy individuals.

Which sequence should be used in the thorax magnetic resonance imaging of COVID-19: a comparative study.
To evaluate and compare magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) sequences that could potentially be used in the diagnosis of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). ⋯ All 5 sequences evaluated in the study were successful in showing the parenchymal findings of COVID-19. Since the T2W-FSE-P sequence had the best scores in both interobserver agreement and ICC for the image quality score, it was considered that it can be included in thorax MRI examinations to assist the diagnosis of COVID-19.

Novel parameters for predicting fluid responsiveness during the mini fluid challenge and ability of the cardiac power index: an observational cohort study.
The percentage change in the stroke volume index (SVI) due to the mini fluid challenge (MFC) (MFC-ΔSVI%) is used commonly in daily practice. However, up to 20% of patients remain in the gray zone of this variable. Thus, it was aimed to compare the MFC-ΔSVI% and the percentage change in the cardiac power index (CPI) due to the MFC (MFC-ΔCPI%) with the baseline values of the pulse pressure variation (PPV) and stroke volume variation (SVV) in terms of their abilities to predict fluid responsiveness. ⋯ Fluid responsiveness can be predicted more accurately using the MFC-ΔSVI% and MFC-ΔCPI% than using the SVV and PPV. Additionally, concomitant use of the MFC-ΔSVI% and MFC-ΔCPI% is recommended, as this approach diminishes the number of patients in the gray zone.
