Animal dander is one of the most common respiratory allergens in children, and there is evidence that cat sensitivity is a risk factor for asthma and allergic rhinitis. In this study, it was aimed to evaluate children with cat sensitivity and to identify their demographic and clinical characteristics. ⋯ Cat ownership can affect the development of cat sensitivity but the majority of patients with cat sensitivity are not cat owners. Elevated tIgE levels (> 1000 IU/mL) may be associated with cat sensitivity, these patients should be evaluated for cat sensitivity, even if they do not report symptoms with cat contact.

Antinuclear antibody (ANA) is among the most frequently ordered tests in paediatric rheumatology setting. Diseases like systemic lupus erythematosus and Sjögren syndrome is closely related with a positive ANA and classified as ANA associated diseases. Besides, ANA test is ordered in patients with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) to assess the risk for uveitis and a positive ANA could be detected in children with nonrheumaticrheumatic conditions. In this study, we aimed to investigate frequency of positive ANA in paediatric rheumatology setting and the association of immunofluorescence staining patterns and titres of ANA with rheumatic diseases. ⋯ Our study showed that the majority of children with a positive ANA test were not diagnosed with a rheumatic disease. While titres and patterns of ANA were found to be important in diagnosis of rheumatic diseases, ordering ANA test with solid indications might give improved probability of rheumatic diagnoses in children with a positive test.

We aim to show pelvic lymphocele (PL) rates in patients who were operated for endometrial cancer (EC) and underwent systematic paraaortic bilateral pelvic lymph node dissection (PABPLND) with advanced bipolar vessel sealing device (ABVSD). ⋯ The dissection and sealing of major lymph vessels were achieved during the removal of all lymph packages with LigaSure™ blunt tip laparoscopic sealer/divider. The use of advanced bipolar systems can reduce the formation of PL in lymph node dissection in endometrial cancer.

Data on adverse prognostic factors for mortality in patients with dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) are limited. The objective of this study was to evaluate two-year mortality predictors in patients with DLB. ⋯ Patients with DLB had an unfavorable survival outcomes. Approaches to prevent malnutrition can improve prognosis and reduce early mortality in this vulnerable group. However, further studies are needed to determine mortality risk factors in this population.

Nutrient arteries pass through the nutrient foramina and reach the spongious part or medullary cavity of the bones. The arterial blood supply and nutrient foramina of the ilium have not been well described in the literature. The aim of this study is to define the numbers and localizations of nutrient foramina of the ilium on the internal surface in accordance with the pelvic brim, as well as the external surface, and furthermore the distances between these foramina with certain anatomical landmarks. ⋯ The localizations and configurations of all nutrient foramina on the ilium were evaluated morphometrically for the first time.
