Innate-like T lymphocytes are a recently defined group of T cells comprising mainly mucosa-associated invariant T (MAIT) cells. The relationship between MAIT cells and childhood asthma is controversial. In this study, we aimed to determine the role of MAIT cells in patients with allergic asthma (AA) and nonallergic asthma (NAA). This is the first study to compare the ratios of these cells in patients with AA and NAA. ⋯ Our study found that MAIT cell ratios were lower in the NAA patient group compared to the control group and AA patients. It has been predicted that MAIT cell depletion may have a role in the development of NAA. Our study is the first on this subject in the literature and further studies are needed.

The study is aimed to determine the relationship between the delivery and breastfeeding history of the patients and the clinicopathological properties of breast cancer. ⋯ Breast cancer is seen at a later age in patients who are parous than those who have never given birth. Patients who are parous and have breastfed tend to present with a higher stage of the disease.

Randomized controlled trials usually lack generabilizity to real-world context. Real-world data, enabled by the use of big data analysis, serve as a connection between the results of trials and the implementation of findings in clinical practice. Nevertheless, using big data in the healthcare has difficulties such as ensuring data quality and consistency. This article aimed to examine the challenges in accessing and utilizing healthcare big data for heart failure (HF) research, drawing from experiences in creating a nationwide HF registry in Türkiye. ⋯ To accurately identify patients with HF using ICD-10 codes from big data and provide precise information, it is necessary to establish additional specific criteria for HF and use different statistical programs by experts for correctly analyzing big data.

We aimed to investigate the relationship between serum antidrug antibodies (ADAbs), systemic hypersensitivity, or local injection site reactions to tumor necrosis factor (anti-TNF) drugs and to detect the role of skin tests in the diagnosis of hypersensitivity reactions (HSRs) against anti-TNFs. ⋯ This study demonstrates that patients who exhibit ISRs to anti-TNFs produce notably positive results to IDT without maintaining a direct relationship to serum levels of ADAbs.

Y2O3-Al2O3-SiO2 (YAS) glass microspheres are currently used in radioembolization treatment. However, abscess formation can occur following this treatment. This study aims to endow YAS glass microspheres with antibacterial properties to address the abscesses forming in patients after radioembolization treatment. ⋯ The antibacterial agent-doped YAS glass microspheres show promise in combating infections that occur following radioembolization treatment.
