ReviewSpontaneous idiopathic liver hemorrhage: a systematic review of a rare entity.
Spontaneous idiopathic liver hemorrhage (SILH) is a rare life-threatening condition occurring without a clear and specific etiology. A systematic review was performed to provide guidelines for the perioperative management of patients affected by SILH. A case report was also included. ⋯ Conservative treatment of SILH is mainly based on stable clinical conditions and may be considered even in case of a limited arterial blush found on imaging. The absence of underlying hepatic or systemic disorders seems to correlate with favorable outcomes and no mortality.

Randomized Controlled TrialAudio-biofeedback versus the scale method for improving partial weight-bearing adherence in healthy older adults: a randomised trial.
To investigate how audio-biofeedback during the instruction of partial weight-bearing affected adherence, compared to traditional methods, in older adults; and to investigate the influence of individual characteristics. ⋯ Audio-biofeedback delivered no statistically significant benefit over the scale method. Lower cognitive function, older age and higher body mass index were associated with overloading.

ReviewAssault rifle injuries in civilians: ballistics of wound patterns, assessment and initial management.
Wounds from assault rifles and their commercial offspring have been encountered with increasing frequency in civilian practice. Our aim is to summarize wound ballistics related to the main injury patterns that can also affect management strategies. ⋯ Wound ballistics provides a system for evaluation of injuries from assault rifles and risk analysis of shooting incidents. Lessons learned from armed conflicts can improve the management of victims, with due consideration given to characteristics of civilian injuries. Further research is required to define the impact on survival by key life-saving procedures in the prehospital setting, in order to prioritize these interventions.

Multicenter StudyIncidence, treatment techniques, and results of distal humeral coronal shear fractures in children and adolescents-a multicenter study of the German Section of Pediatric Traumatology (SKT).
Distal humeral coronal shear fractures (CSF) are uncommon and may be challenging to treat due to their size, location, and intraarticular nature. The purpose of this study was to analyze treatment concepts of this rare entity in the growing age. ⋯ III, retrospective analysis.

Multicenter StudyThe correlation of CT-derived muscle density, skeletal muscle index, and visceral adipose tissue with nutritional status in severely injured patients.
This study explored if computerized tomography-derived body composition parameters (CT-BCPs) are related to malnutrition in severely injured patients admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). ⋯ Level III, Prognostic/Epidemiological.
