Multicenter StudyPeri-implant fractures after Intramedullary fixation for femoral trochanteric fracture: a multicenter (TRON Group) study.
With the rise in elderly populations, the incidence of femoral trochanteric fractures has also increased. Although intramedullary nail therapy is commonly used, the incidence of peri-implant fractures (PIFs) as a complication and its associated factors are not fully understood. The purpose of this study was to determine the incidence of PIFs and treatment strategies and outcomes. ⋯ Therapeutic Level IV.

Multicenter StudyAnalysis of postoperative complications 5 years after osteosynthesis of patella fractures-a retrospective, multicenter cohort study.
The study aims to investigate the influence of patient- and fracture-specific factors on the occurrence of complications after osteosynthesis of patella fractures and to compare knee joint function, activity, and subjective pain levels after a regular postoperative course and after complications in the medium term. ⋯ The present study demonstrated that implant-related complications occurred significantly more often after TBW compared to LPO. The complication rates were similar in all groups.

Multicenter StudyAccuracy between prehospital and hospital diagnosis in helicopter emergency medical services and its consequences for trauma care.
For optimal prehospital trauma care, it is essential to adequately recognize potential life-threatening injuries in order to correctly triage patients and to initiate life-saving measures. The aim of the present study was to determine the accuracy of prehospital diagnoses suspected by helicopter emergency medical services (HEMS). ⋯ Approximately half of severe chest, abdominal, and pelvic diagnoses made in hospital went undetected in the challenging prehospital environment. This underlines the difficult circumstances faced by the rescue teams. Potentially life-saving interventions such as prehospital chest decompression and increased use of a pelvic binder were identified as potential improvements to prehospital care.

Multicenter StudyPeriprosthetic proximal humerus fractures require an individualized treatment approach-results of a multicenter retrospective study.
In the last years, there has been increasing use of shoulder arthroplasty. As a result, an increasing incidence of periprosthetic humerus fractures (PPHF) is expected. Therefore, this retrospective, multicenter analysis aimed to collect demographic data from patients with PPHF, their treatment strategies, and associated complications. ⋯ Level IV, epidemiologic study.
