Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative Study
Ropivacaine versus ropivacaine plus dexmedetomidine in serratus anterior plane block patients undergoing post-thoracotomy surgery: a randomized, double-blinded clinical trial.
This study was designed and implemented to investigate the addition of dexmedetomidine to Serratus Anterior Plane Block (SAP) with ropivacaine in reducing pain in patients undergoing post-thoracotomy surgery. ⋯ The findings of this study show that SAP block with dexmedetomidine is an effective and safe drug along with ropivacaine as a nerve-blocking agent in thoracotomy candidates.

Effect of visual lung recruitment manoeuvres guided by trans-oesophageal lung ultrasound on atelectasis after thoracoscopic lobectomy: a randomised, single-blind, prospective study.
Although the incidence of postoperative atelectasis could be reduced using lung recruitment manoeuvres, it remains high. We hypothesised that intraoperative visual lung recruitment guided by trans-oesophageal lung ultrasound would be more effective than the conventional method for managing postoperative atelectasis. ⋯ Lung recruitment guided by trans-oesophageal lung ultrasound can reduce lung ultrasound scores and the incidence of atelectasis at the post anaesthesia care unit 30 min after extubation. However, it does not significantly reduce the incidence of atelectasis 3 days after surgery. TRIAL REGISTRATION: Registration number: ChiCTR2200062509. Registered on 10 /8/ 2022.

Improvement in pain by using lidocaine combined with esketamine in elderly patients receiving local anaesthesia for percutaneous kyphoplasty: a randomized controlled study.
Elderly patients often experience severe pain during percutaneous kyphoplasty under local anaesthesia. The aim of this work was to evaluate the effect of lidocaine combined with esketamine on pain improvement in elderly patients receiving local anaesthesia via percutaneous kyphoplasty. ⋯ The application of lidocaine combined with esketamine in local episcopal percutaneous vertebral kyphoplasty in elderly patients not only provides an effective analgesic effect but also improves surgical safety and patient comfort, which has important clinical value in promoting the optimization of surgical anaesthesia management in elderly patients.

Comparison of the anesthetic effects of remimazolam tosilate and remimazolam besylate in daytime hysteroscopic surgery.
The purpose of this study is to observe whether there is a difference in the anesthetic effect of remimazolam tosilate and remimazolam besylate in daytime hysteroscopic surgery, so as to provide reference for clinical application. ⋯ Chinese Clinical Trial Registry, ChiCTR2400081688.

The effect of combined pudendal nerve and spermatic cord block or caudal epidural block on postoperative analgesia after posterior urethroplasty: a randomized trial.
Postoperative pain management remains a significant challenge for patients undergoing posterior urethroplasty (PU). In a previous study, we proposed a novel technique of combined pudendal nerve (PN) and spermatic cord (SC) block to manage pain after PU. The present trial was conducted to test the hypothesis that this technique is effective for pain control after PU and provides longer-lasting analgesia than caudal epidural block (CB). ⋯ PN combined with SC block is an effective technique for postoperative analgesia in PU. This technique can achieve a longer duration of analgesia and lower pain scores, especially 12 h after surgery, than a CB.
