Comparison of erector spinae plane block and serratus anterior plane block for postoperative analgesia in uniportal thoracoscopic lobectomy: a randomized controlled trial.
Postoperative pain remains a significant concern following uniportal thoracoscopic surgery. The analgesic efficacy of erector spinae plane block (ESPB) and serratus anterior plane block (SAPB) in terms of postoperative opioid consumption in uniportal thoracoscopic surgery still needs further studies. ⋯ In patients undergoing uniportal thoracoscopic lobectomy, although the differences between the two groups are not statistically significant, both the ESPB and SAPB demonstrate effective reduction in postoperative opioid consumption and the need for rescue analgesics compared to the control group. Moreover, the ESPB group experienced a significantly lower incidence of moderate to severe pain at 6 h postoperatively compared to the SAPB group.

Comparison of intrathecal low-dose bupivacaine and morphine with intravenous patient control analgesia for postoperative analgesia for video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery.
Thoracoscopic surgical techniques continue to advance, yet the intensity of postoperative pain remains significant, impeding swift patient recovery. This study aimed to evaluate the differences in postoperative pain and recuperation between patients receiving intrathecal morphine paired with low-dose bupivacaine and those administered general anesthesia exclusively. ⋯ Intrathecal administration of morphine combined with bupivacaine has been shown to effectively ameliorate acute pain in patients undergoing thoracoscopic surgery.

Myocardial protection with phosphocreatine in high-risk cardiac surgery patients: a randomized trial.
This study was conducted to test the hypothesis that phosphocreatine (PCr), administered intravenously and as cardioplegia adjuvant in patients undergoing cardiac surgery with prolonged aortic cross clamping and cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) time, would decrease troponin I concentration after surgery. ⋯ PCr administration to patients undergoing double/triple valve surgery under cardiopulmonary bypass is safe but is not associated with a decrease in troponin I concentration. Phosphocreatine had no beneficial effect on clinical outcomes after surgery.

The ED50 and ED95 of esketamine for preventing early postoperative pain in patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy: a prospective, double-blinded trial.
This study aims to estimate the safety, efficacy, and median effective dose (ED50) of esketamine for preventing early postoperative pain in patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy. ⋯ In this study, esketamine can prevent early postoperative pain effectively. The ED50 and ED95 of esketamine for controlling early postoperative pain were 0.301 mg/kg and 0.379 mg/kg, respectively.

Ultrasound-guided pericapsular nerve group (PENG) block for early analgesia in elderly patients with hip fractures: a single-center prospective randomized controlled study.
The aim of this study was to compare the efficacy of ultrasound-guided PENG (pericapsular nerve group) block and drug therapy with intravenous flurbiprofen for early analgesia in elderly patients with hip fractures after hospitalization. ⋯ Compared with intravenous flurbiprofen, ultrasound-guided PENG block provides better early analgesic effects in elderly patients with hip fractures, and a PENG block is safe for elderly patients with hip fractures after hospitalization. Trial registration This study was registered in the Chinese Clinical Trial Testing Center (ID: ChiCTR2200062400).
