Randomized Controlled Trial
[Comparison of ultrasound-guided supraclavicular and infraclavicular approaches for brachial plexus blockade].
Ultrasound-guided supraclavicular and infraclavicular blocks are commonly used for upper extremity surgery. The primary aims of our study were to compare block success, block onset times and performance times; secondary aims were to compare the number of needle advancements, and incidence of adverse events of ultrasound-guided supraclavicular or infraclavicular blocks. ⋯ Similar block features were observed with infraclavicular and supraclavicular approaches, but infraclavicular block may be preferable to supraclavicular block due to the lower incidence of transient adverse events.

[The role of pericranial muscles in the succesful management of episodic tension type headache].
Peripheral and central nociceptive mechanisms are responsible for the development of Tension Type Headache (TTH). Analgesics are frequently used in the treatment of acute TTH. Antidepressants are used in prevention. In this study, the therapeutic efficacy of local application of lidocaine was investigated in Episodic Tension Type Headache (ETTH) patients. ⋯ Local lidocaine application can be used as an effective method in the treatment of ETTH patients with pericranial tenderness.

[A commonly seen cause of abdominal pain: abdominal cutaneous nerve entrapment syndrome].
Although abdominal cutaneous nerve entrapment syndrome (ACNES) is accepted as a rare condition, it is a syndrome that should be diagnosed more commonly when the clinical signs cannot explain the cause of abdominal pain. Abdominal pain is commonly considered by physicians to be based on intra-abdominal causes. ⋯ Actually, a common cause of abdominal wall pain is nerve entrapment on the lateral edge of the rectus abdominis muscle. In this paper, we would like to share information about the diagnosis and treatment of a patient who, prior to presenting to us, had applied to different clinics for chronic abdominal pain and had undergone many tests and consultations; abdominal surgery was eventually decided.

Controlled Clinical Trial
[Comparison of bupivacaine and levobupivacaine with epidural technique for labor analgesia].
The labor pain is one of the most severe pains that a woman could ever be suffered. Today, many medical and psychological methods are used in an effort to reduce labor pain.Epidural analgesia is the best current method used for the purposes of obstetric analgesia. ⋯ In conclusion, with the usage of 0.125% bupivacaine or 0.125% levobupivacaine, sufficient labor analgesia is achieved with patient controlled epidural analgesia method at the same side effect frequency. Consequently, both local analgesic medicines are seemed to be safely used in labor analgesia.
