Postoperative analgesia for arthroscopic rotator cuff surgery: a comparison between subacromial and interscalene levobupivacaine.
Arthroscopic rotator cuff surgery can result in severe postoperative pain. We compared a continuous subacromial infusion to a continuous interscalene block with levobupivacaine for patients undergoing arthroscopic rotator cuff surgery. ⋯ This study demonstrates that subacromial infusions, although provided good postoperative analgesia, are not as effective as interscalene infusions and additional analgesics should be prescribed when subacromial infusions are started. Subacromial infusions could be considered as an alternative in case of any contraindication to interscalene block.

[The effects of preemptive dexketoprofen use on postoperative pain relief and tramadol consumption].
In this study, the efficacy of preemptive dexketoprofen usage on postoperative pain relief and tramadol consumption was evaluated. ⋯ Preemptive use of dexketoprofen reduced postoperative tramadol consumption and incidence of adverse events.

[Assessment of the effect of intrathecal levobupivacaine combined with fentanyl or morphine on postoperative analgesia in patients undergoing cesarean section].
Our prospective, randomized, double-blind study aimed to detect the effect of intrathecal levobupivacaine combined with fentanyl or morphine on the postoperative analgesia in patients undergoing cesarean section. ⋯ Despite more adverse effects, additional analgesic requirement is lower in Group M, and the long-term painless postoperative period accounts for the choice by mothers.

[The effect of perioperative infused dexmedetomidine on postoperative analgesic consumption in mastoidectomy operations].
We aimed to investigate the effect of dexmedetomidine infusion on the amount of opioid that is consumed during the operation, the amount of analgesic that the patient requires after the operation and on pain scores. ⋯ Results of our study demonstrated that continuous infusion of dexmedetomidine during the operation could provide postoperative patient comfort without affecting the extubation time while concomitantly decreasing the consumption of tramadol.

[The effects of intravenous dexketoprofen on postoperative analgesia and morphine consumption in patients undergoing abdominal hysterectomy].
Dexketoprofen trometamol is a water-soluble salt of the dextrorotatory enantiomer of the nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug ketoprofen. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of intravenous dexketoprofen on postoperative pain. ⋯ We conclude that the administration of IV dexketoprofen provided a significant analgesic benefit and decreased the morphine requirements in patients undergoing abdominal hysterectomy.
