Lack of residual morning effects of lemborexant treatment for insomnia: summary of findings across 9 clinical trials.
Residual next-day effects of sleep-promoting drugs are common and an important safety issue. Lemborexant is a dual orexin receptor antagonist approved in the United States and Japan for treatment of insomnia in adults. We evaluated the potential of lemborexant for residual morning and next-day effects, including somnolence, based on lemborexant clinical study findings. ⋯ Across 9 clinical studies, lemborexant did not substantially impair next-day functioning among healthy subjects and subjects with insomnia.

Differences in the age distribution of influenza B virus infection according to influenza B virus lineages in the Korean population.
Since the 2000s, two lineages of the influenza B virus (influenza B/Victoria and influenza B/Yamagata) have been co-circulating. Information on the age distribution of patients infected by each influenza B virus lineage may be helpful for establishing differentiated influenza prevention and control strategies for each age group. ⋯ The age distribution of patients infected by the influenza virus was different between the Yamagata and Victoria seasons. Different influenza prevention and control strategies should be considered on the basis of the predominantly circulating virus and the affected age group.

Exploring patient safety culture in the community pharmacy setting: A national cross-sectional study.
The community pharmacy is one setting that plays a crucial role in patient safety. To develop tailored patient safety improvement programs in this setting, it is essential to know the perspectives of the pharmacies' staffs on patient safety. Thus, in this study, we assessed patient-safety culture in the community pharmacy setting in Saudi Arabia. ⋯ The study revealed that all dimensions are scope for further improvement, and critical consideration ought to be given to the areas of weakness, for the most part in the dimension of Staffing, Work Pressure, and Pace.

Pain severity and healthcare resource utilization in patients with osteoarthritis in the United States.
To evaluate healthcare resource utilization (HCRU) by osteoarthritis (OA) pain severity. ⋯ Greater current pain was associated with more prior HCRU including imaging for monitoring progression, HCP visits including more specialty care, hospitalizations, surgery/planned surgery, and loss of independence due to functional disability. Yet rates of hospitalizations and X-ray use were still sizable even among patients with mild pain. These cross-sectional findings warrant longitudinal assessment to further elucidate the impact of pain on HCRU.

Trephine bone marrow biopsy (BMB) in internal medicine has only been studied in fever of unknown origin and inflammation of unknown origin. The aim was to assess BMB diagnostic yield according to main indications and patient characteristics in internal medicine. Quality of BMB and contribution of bone marrow aspiration (BMA) to BMB were also analyzed. ⋯ Cytopenia(s), blood cythemias and monoclonal gammopathy are indications with the highest diagnostic yield. Concomitant BMA and IHC analysis should be systematically performed to increase BMB diagnostic yield in internal medicine.
