Association of different lipid measures with incident bone fractures: Tehran Lipid and Glucose Study.
To investigate the association between different lipid measures and long-term hospitalization-required incident fracture among Iranian men and women. ⋯ Among Iranian women, a nonlinear association between non-HDL-C and LDL-C and incident fracture was found as the second and fifth quintile of the former and the second quintile of the latter were associated with about 50% lower risk of fracture. Generally, our findings did not support harmful impact of these lipid measures on incident fracture.

Improvement in fatigue and sleep measures with the dual orexin receptor antagonist lemborexant in adults with insomnia disorder.
Fatigue is a common symptom in patients with insomnia. This analysis evaluated whether treatment of nighttime symptoms of insomnia with a dual orexin receptor antagonist, lemborexant, might also reduce fatigue. ⋯ DSM-5 = Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition; FSS = Fatigue Severity Scale; ICSD-3 = International Classification of Sleep Disorders, Third Edition; LSM = least squares mean; sSE = subjective sleep efficiency; sSOL = subjective sleep onset latency; sTST = subjective total sleep time; sWASO = subjective sleep after wake onset.

Observational StudyThe descending pain modulation system predicts short term efficacy of multimodal pain therapy - an observational prospective cohort study.
Treating chronic pain patients with multimodal pain therapy (MMPT) alters perception, awareness, and processing of pain at multiple therapeutic levels. Several clinical observations suggest that the effects of therapy may go beyond the possible sum of each level of therapy and may be due to a central descending inhibitory effect measurable by conditioned pain modulation (CPM). Thus, we investigated whether CPM is able to identify a group of patients that benefit particularly from MMPT. ⋯ In conclusion, this study shows that while a heterogeneous group of patients with chronic pain disorders does sustainably benefit from MMPT in general, patients with a sufficient CPM effect do show a more pronounced decrease in pain ratings directly after therapy in comparison to those without.

Determinants of COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy among parents in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
COVID-19 vaccines are critical tools to manage the current pandemic. The objective of this study is to assess determinants of COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy among parents in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. ⋯ The findings show that almost a quarter of the study population are hesitant to vaccinate their children. Factors were associated with parental vaccination hesitancy for their children include sufficient knowledge of the COVID-19, older children and those with chronic conditions, and domains of HBM like the perception of susceptibility and severity to illness, benefit and barriers of vaccination, and cues to action. These will contribute to make planning in health communication strategies for the upcoming vaccination campaigns, as well as managing the pandemic.

Association between four-limb blood pressure differences and arterial stiffness: a cross-sectional study.
Although inter-arm blood pressure difference (IAD) and inter-ankle blood pressure difference (IAND) have been shown to be associated with cardiovascular disease, controversy remains. In this study, we investigated the prevalence of IAD and IAND as well as the correlation with arterial stiffness and systolic blood pressure in a large number of the Chinese population. ⋯ Limb blood pressure differences were closely related to arterial stiffness and systolic blood pressure, allowing for a more comprehensive assessment of cardiovascular risk.
