Practice Guideline[Guidelines for resuscitation of hypovolemic shock (2007)].
Hypovolemic shock is a pathophysiologic condition produced by rapid and significant loss of intravascular volume, leading sequentially to hemodynamic instability, decreases in oxygen delivery, decreased tissue perfusion, cellular hypoxia, cellular and organ damage, multiple organ dysfunction syndrome(MODS) and may end in death. Early recognition of hypovolemic shock and prompt systematic intervention will help avoid poor outcomes. The guideline is aimed to review the clinical aspects of hypovolemic shock (including definition, pathophysiology, monitoring, diagnosis, therapy, endpoints of resuscitation, et al.) and provide recommendations according to evidence.

Randomized Controlled Trial[Effects of penehyclidine hydrochloride on the splanchnic perfusion of patients with septic shock].
To observe the effect of penehyclidine hydrochloride on the treatment of septic shock. ⋯ Penehyclidine hydrochloride could significantly improve the microcirculation and compensated covert shock without adverse influence on heart rate, shortening of the time of shock resuscitation, and it might have the possibility of decreasing death rate in patients with septic shock. At present penehyclidine hydrochloride is one of the most promising vasoactive drugs in releasing vasoconstriction of microcirculation in patients with septic shock.

[Analysis of a survey of SSC guideline implemented among Chinese intensivists].
To survey the implementation of the "surviving sepsis campaign" (SSC) guidelines for the management of severe sepsis and septic shock among Chinese adult intensive care unit (ICU). ⋯ Guidelines for severe sepsis and septic shock guidelines was published in SSC Meeting in 2003. Most Chinese intensivists can understand the SSC guidelines and always use it during their clinical practice.

Comparative Study[Study on intestinal absorption rate of glucose electrolyte solution during enteral resuscitation of 35% total body surface area burn injury in dog].
To investigate the intestinal absorption rate of glucose-electrolyte solution (GES) during enteral resuscitation of burn injury in Beagle dogs, and compare the effect of enteral intake with that of intravenous infusion resuscitation. ⋯ Intestinal absorption rate of fluid given according to Parkland formula after burn injury is sufficient to resuscitate shock in animals suffering from a 35%TBSA full-thickness burn. Enteral resuscitation with GES may attain a similar therapeutic effect in expanding PV and maintain hemodynamic parameters.
